Feeling gutted hearing the results this morning. Scary to see what will happen. All I know is tariffs will be a big thing. That's been known for years now. So why do the Dems handicap themselves by putting up a multi-racial woman as a candidate? They put up someone they think "should" have won, instead of someone that "could" have won.

Had Joe declined to run two years ago and they had a proper primary, Harris would not have been the nominee.

I stated on here before that Harris was never popular with black voters from her days as a prosecutor, and they may have been the difference. Maybe they saw through her fake accent when she spoke to them.

Just like 2016, Trump didn't win, so much as the Dems lost. It can't be that hard to put up a candidate that could have beaten him. Politics has no room for idealism.

Can hardly believe the results. I've said before (in another thread, early on) that if Trump gets re-elected, then the Americans get what they deserve but the problem is, the USA is too big and everything it does causes ripples & waves around the globe.

Americans were angry about the cost of living and the direction of the economy. The Democrats selected a candidate Americans would obviously blame for their economic troubles. Apparently, there was even Democratic polling before Biden stepped down revealing she was as unpopular as Biden. That negative sentiment got drowned out by liberal women getting in behind Harris. A better opponent such as Nikki Haley would have absolutely smashed Harris.

but it wasnt hard to see that harris was unqualified for the job and that she herself, behind the cackle, the mangled syntax and the baffling array of accents, voters seemed to know she wasn’t up to it and voters like to believe that people should be hired and promoted on the strength of their character, ability and experience. there was simply too little evidence of this in harris, she appeared to have no intellectual resources, no managerial ability, and a childish view on any topic on which she has spoken.

so if you allow a woman ( or man) to become president not because she has the qualities and qualifications to assume high office, but because she ticks the right diversity boxes ( black, autism, lesbo, pooftah, disabled, single mother, history of abusive relationships, born in the ghetto .... just pick any three) you are sending an obvious message that without special assistance certain groups can’t compete, assigning the idea of a meritocracy to the bin and you denigrate the achievements of all women, and men, who’ve made it to the top of their chosen fields through hard work and capabilities. no one should face prejudice because of their handicaps or disadvantages, but no one should be elevated because of them either.

I think the Latino vote stemmed from their Catholic beliefs and the fact they know allowing undocumented arrivals from Central America will bring Narcos and criminals with them, exactly the type of criminals and environment they fled from. They have come to America to work hard and live peacefully and that is what they have voted for in this election. Liberals have become too liberal for the good of the greater society. I am not saying they are bad people or stupid, they have just become too soft from living in America. Even though many Latinos were born in America, they still carry that stain of poverty and government corruption with them.
