    2024 US Presidential election

I am going to go on the record early with a daring statement.

    Biden reelected
    Dems retain Senate
    Dems reclaim house

If they can survive a midterm, there will most likely be a blue wave in 2024.

I think as Jo En Lao said in 1970s when asked about teh French Revolution

    TOO EARLY TO JUDGE

I hope it is a fair uncontested election and as many vote as possible.

Unless of course the Republicans learned something from this.

Personally I find the fact that an oaf like walker can even have a chance, can you imagine if the Republicans fielded better candidates?
Anyway , if the democrats were smart, they will try and keep trump in the game. He is the gift that keeps on giving IMO.

Sure is. Biden has yet to even officially confirm he will run again and the GOP is not close to having a front runner for their candidate.

Well the smart money is going on DeSantis and if he's up against Biden I think he'll win.

Unless of course baldy orange cunto wrecks his campaign by dividing the republicans into normal republicans and utter fucking morons.

The GOP are in disarray, their wave turned out to be nothing more than a mud puddle, currently they can not even elect a speaker of the house. If they could not even win a midterm election, how on earth could you believe they could win a Presidential election? Unless a lot changes over the next two years, they are going to get clobbered in 2024.

    Snubby,

I've already told you how DeSantis got the biggest winning margin in 40 years and got independent voters that voted for Biden.

You can keep coming up with the smug shit but it has no bearing on the facts.

    Desantis is a crafty politician.

It's time to clean up America!

Trump will get killed on his election campaign and Biden drops dead on his inauguration.

Not early. Hell, I started a thread about a year (?, I forget) before Biden announced (April 2019) he would run. Sent his campaign 2,500.00 within half hour of his announcement (early morning) and the other 250.00 after he accepted the nomination.

If he does run, he’ll win.

If he doesn’t run, Newsom will win.

Biden and Trump are both too old to run again. Despite Biden's experience and longevity, his stooped, squinting posture holds him back. (it shouldn't but it does). Trump is just a joke. The US system is taking too long to get rid of him.

When Trump eventually goes, Biden can stand down, and let a more vigorous and youthful candidate stand for President.

^you timed this thread perfectly. Rumors

Klain says he expects Biden to announce 2024 bid after holidays

President Biden could announce a potential 2024 presidential bid after the Christmas and New Year's holidays, White House chief of staff Ron Klain said Monday.

Driving the news: "The president will make that decision. I expect it shortly after the holiday," Klain said at the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council summit.

    • "I expect the decision will be to do it," he added.

The big picture: White House senior adviser Anita Dunn said last month that Biden's decision to run is going to be a family decision.

    • "The family is going to be deeply involved in whatever decision he reaches because that's who he is," Dunn said at an Axios event.
    • Biden previously said that he would decide after the midterm elections whether he'll seek a second term.

trump should be indicted sometime afterwards

First Lady Jill Biden told French President Emmanuel Macron that she and her husband, President Joe Biden, are ready for his reelection campaign, The New York Times reported.

Biden has not publicly announced whether he will seek reelection in 2024, and is reported to have been discussing the issue in recent week with close family.

Two sources told the Times that the first lady made the comment at last week's state dinner for Macron and his wife, Brigitte, at the White House. When Macron asked if she was being serious, Jill Biden replied "absolutely", and Macron then led a playful toast to Biden's 2024 campaign, per the Times.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider.

At 80, Biden is the oldest president in US history, and some critics believe he is too old to run for a second term. Polls indicate that many voters share concerns about his age.

Even so, many believe that Biden will run again, bouyed by his party's showing in the midterm elections.

Earlier this year Biden's poll ratings were at a record low, and his legislative agenda appeared to have stalled. But a stronger-than-expected showing by Democrats in the midterms, capped off by Raphael Warnock's victory in Georgia's Senate runoff on Tuesday, has given Biden's prospects a new lease of life.

Now that the midterms are over, attention will increasingly turn to 2024.

Former President Donald Trump is so far the only prominent Republican to have announced his 2024 candidacy, and Biden reportedly believes he is well placed to repeat his 2020 election triumph over him if Trump wins the GOP nomination.

Sure he would beat Trump but Trump becoming the GOP candidate is zero.

If these numbers convince DeSantis to run then we should have some great debates.

Former President Donald Trump trails Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the favored Republican presidential nominee by a 23% margin among GOP voters — and would lose to President Joe Biden in a 2024 general election, a new poll finds. Burdened by flagging support after the midterm elections, Trump has the backing of just 33% of GOP voters compared to 56% for DeSantis in the Suffolk University/USA Today poll released Tuesday. Trump would get just 40% compared to 47% for Biden in the poll of all registered 2024 voters. DeSantis, on the other hand, leads Biden by 47% to 43% in the same poll.

Jill Biden makes a tidal shift from her thoughts on another run at the White House

First lady Jill Biden, despite being so worn out from a recent circuit of White House events that she lost her voice, is now seriously looking ahead to her husband running for reelection in 2024. That’s a tidal shift from her position just three months ago.

Seven people familiar with Biden’s thinking told CNN that her private conversations about another run now match her publicly enthusiastic persona, as well as the sentiments of President Joe Biden.

The first lady was still mostly skeptical as of early fall – “not a proponent,” as one person familiar with her thinking told CNN. But in the month since the November midterm elections, in which Democrats defied the fate of most parties of first-term presidents, friends noted a change.

Jill Biden is now “all in” on the idea, according to a person who works with the East Wing.

Even though the last several weeks of high-profile events have left her “exhausted,” said another person, “she has begun to say the quiet part out loud.”

Biden should not rush to declare he is running. Wait and see who he will most likely be running against. Depending on who that is, Biden may not be the best to run. Problem the Dems have, if not Biden, who?

Quite a few Republicans voted for Biden because of Trump. He won't have that luxury if DeSantis is the nominee. I suspect you'll show me a poll where Biden would beat him. Probably by the same polling companies that predicted Hillary would win in 2016.

I'm not a fan of DeSantis btw.

Reason Biden would lose to DeSantis or for that matter any "moderate" fiscally conservative Republican is I believe in 2 years the US will be in a recession and Biden will be held responsible.

Newsom is just one of a few Dems who could run but could he beat a moderate GOP candidate if the economy is still in the tank?
