A BBC Radio 4 contributor was full of praise for the diversity of candidates. Male, female, black, white and brown skin all well represented.
As the deciding votes will go to a group dominated by white males, predominantly over 60, and from the south East of the country, it seems to me the membership diversity lags behind the candidates by a considerable margin!
^ the Tory party has had this sort of make up for quite a few years now, probably the only good thing that Cameron did, so i don't think the blue rinse set will be shocked by the candidates.
Hmm, I'm not really shocked by the 'biggest tits' comment... but in spite of that sexist comment.. there are women who are sexy and smart as well. Ever think of that? Highly doubt you have the capability.
I am not sure who I am voting for as I don't really follow UK poliics. I am happy Boris is out, but he always gave me a chuckle.
Willy you aren't immune from being a daft coont too
It is outdated now. It does not reflect the diversity of the current support who voted at the last election.
The party membership has remained politically unchanged since it was included in the choice of leader. They just got older.
I don’t pretend to know the answer, but the MP diversity is much improved, and the party membership is stagnant. Unfit for the purpose of choosing a party leader.
Rees-Mogg criticised over firm's Russian bank investment
https://www.theguardian.com .21 Mar 2018 — Owning shares in a sanctions-restricted Russian bank is legal but surprising given Rees-Mogg last week called on Theresa May to hurt Russia .
Hole in one Cy some very unpleasant Dublin based Russian energy links of you dig a it or subscribe as I do to the excellent Private Eye the satirical mg With is often sued for dishing the goods on the sordid sleaze Westminster and beyond.linky
‘Admission of corruption’: Jacob Rees-Mogg mocked after claim about Russian money backfires | The Independent
His dad a trad patrician journo was a neighbour for a while my dad a life long Labour voter ex serviceman said he was the only Tory he had any time for since Churchill. He read the Sunday Times cover to cover, Penrose et all hd uncovered Malcolm X , Rhodesian sanction smugglers, Suvandra, Profumo the Thalidomide scandal, pre Merde Cock? Murdoch it was radical centrist serious paper, as well as the Observer to which with both contributed. Dad also contributed to the Eye and had the infamous Friday boozy lunches at the Coach n Horses near Cambridge Circus he was good Irish Toper and could drink Ingram me r David Coleman under the table whereas no man living had such hollow legs as Willy Rushton who for those unfamiliar had Brain Blessed billy Bob Thornton size appetites , ah happy days
Jacob with his faux fop, pose, tails and topper role is merely a spiv, Arthur Daley or a Soprano with a tweaky Etonian accent and all the charm of a Krait.
He makes a good point about who might be the next PM. Batshit crazy as opposed to crazy.
With Badenoch out Ricky was fves at 10/11 at local bookie at lunchtime.
With Tom Tug out I won't be voting but think Moradaunt is the less repellent of the last 3
I posted before Boris resigned that the party lacked a pool from which to choose strong and charismatic leadership. The hasn’t changed, but now you suggest the least repellant option?
Not exactly inspiring is it?
Mordaunt will fall by this measure alone. My worry is that Truss might sneak in with the party membership vote. She at least gives Starmer someone to attack, even though he failed with Boris.
Sunak should get it, but in the hands of old duffers, that seems unlikely.
