A BBC Radio 4 contributor was full of praise for the diversity of candidates. Male, female, black, white and brown skin all well represented.

As the deciding votes will go to a group dominated by white males, predominantly over 60, and from the south East of the country, it seems to me the membership diversity lags behind the candidates by a considerable margin!

^ the Tory party has had this sort of make up for quite a few years now, probably the only good thing that Cameron did, so i don't think the blue rinse set will be shocked by the candidates.

Hmm, I'm not really shocked by the 'biggest tits' comment... but in spite of that sexist comment.. there are women who are sexy and smart as well. Ever think of that? Highly doubt you have the capability.

I am not sure who I am voting for as I don't really follow UK poliics. I am happy Boris is out, but he always gave me a chuckle.

It is outdated now. It does not reflect the diversity of the current support who voted at the last election.
The party membership has remained politically unchanged since it was included in the choice of leader. They just got older.
I don’t pretend to know the answer, but the MP diversity is much improved, and the party membership is stagnant. Unfit for the purpose of choosing a party leader.

No point changing it now then.

All those suckers have already seen through the mountain of bs spread by Boris and his cohorts.

Their support should be referred to in the past tense.

He makes a good point about who might be the next PM. Batshit crazy as opposed to crazy.

With Badenoch out Ricky was fves at 10/11 at local bookie at lunchtime.
With Tom Tug out I won't be voting but think Moradaunt is the less repellent of the last 3

I posted before Boris resigned that the party lacked a pool from which to choose strong and charismatic leadership. The hasn’t changed, but now you suggest the least repellant option?
    Not exactly inspiring is it?
Mordaunt will fall by this measure alone. My worry is that Truss might sneak in with the party membership vote. She at least gives Starmer someone to attack, even though he failed with Boris.
Sunak should get it, but in the hands of old duffers, that seems unlikely.

Enough polls. I suspect that Truss is overconfident in her own abilities, so she will have to be pushed.

Still no statesmanlike replacements, and an election would be suicide for the Tories. Truss knows this unfortunately.

no shit, its not like the polls show that. The Torys have a majority and the back benchers aren't going to vote themselves out 2 years early - what was your career
