That's incorrect. Russia's economy is 6th in the world. About the same size as Germany.

Then there's the Eurasian Economic Union which is a free trade zone that Moscow is a senior member of. This whole war was about the US denying Ukraine to the Eurasian Economic Union by hook or crook.

I thought it was about de-nazification? Or the threat of NATO moving eastward? Or the UAF shelling Donbas?

Keep clutching at straws. The reason there is a war is because Putin invaded a sovereign nation.

Then there's the whole canard that Russia is just a gas station.

Yandex is the biggest tech startup in Europe and the 5th biggest search engine in the world (where's Italy's ? Where's Germanys?) Yandex - Wikipedia It also has the largest market share of any search engine from Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States and is the 5th largest search engine worldwide

Kaspersky was the most used antivirus in Europe. Wiki As of 2016, the software has about 400 million users and has the largest market-share of cybersecurity software vendors in Europe. Kaspersky Lab - Wikipedia

Nginx is a Russian web server company that was top 3 in the world in its sector before being bought out by a US company Nginx - Wikipedia

Telegram is a top 10 web messaging app in the world Messengers are more than messaging: fullest summary for business | Poprey Blog

Not bad for a gas station. But policy makers in the west really believe this shit. They really think they are dealing with an over sized Iran with nukes. So they will keep trying to knock Russia down till they kill the global economy. One more sanctions package will do it. Just one more... Scary times.

In the admittedly unlikely event the idiot Backspin’s crass contributions might garner support, might I remind him that Russia’s contribution to global GDP is a mere 1.5%, 60% of which is derived from the sale of his energy resources which is currently sanctioned by the West which has also terminated his supply chain from their economies which as I have said earlier constitute over 30% of the global GDP.

And his oligarch currency reserves, nigh on half a trillion $, are getting more frozen by the day.

Putin is fucked and he knows it …….the longer his crew and fat pig psycho generals are kept from their money and access to the West, the deeper his political grave will get. And of course the more his army gets trashed and the body count rises the more his lumpen peasantry will see the prick for what he is.

If any of this stuff were true, then we'd have to be seeing results sooner than later. All Russia has to show for some of its FX reserves frozen is a Ruble rally. The war has been going for months and 1/2 year before we know it.

Im afraid western policy makers are not going to see encouraging results of their sanctions war anytime soon. Which probably means they will start to entertain a naval blockade. That'll be a great idea.

Russia does green energy. Lots of it.

A Russian economy contraction of 12% and an inflation rate of 22% is not a sign of fiscal strength, you dozy moron. Russia does not have time on its side, the West does.

Even if the Putin scum annexed Ukraine Russia would be consigned to coon status for a generation - a tinpot corruptocracy no better than fucking Venezuela.

Nuclear is probably the dirtiest, most dangerous fuel source on the planet. The Russians proved it with their previous, arrogant mismanagement at Chernobyl. (Other global failures are available).

Even throwing money at the waste problem has failed. Storage of nuclear waste is possibly the only thing more dangerous and volatile than the idiot Putin. This is why other nations have become dependent on gas and oil.

And yet it may be the only realistically rapid solution to climate change until Fusion comes along.

It is all true, and the fact remains that Russia is nothing more than a gas station, no matter how hard you try to claim it isn't.

That weird little creep Backspin sure does like to troll his garbage.

World Bank source 2020 has Italy's GDP at $1.88 trillion, the Russian pig economy, $1.48.

Fuck his ppp equivalence shit. It's a third world economy utterly reliant on the sale of oil & gas for 60% of that GDP which is why Russians earn shit money, have shit pensions and have no future. When energy prices fell to less than $50 a barrel and oilfields in many exploration fields were closed down and workers hung up their helmets, Russia was fucked. Just like Venezuela.

The future is grim for Russia and their lumpen peasants. Let's enjoy it. The fuckers are the cause of so much shit in the world and deserve their misery.

Outside of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, living conditions in Russia are truly horrid and the people who live out in that wasteland are absolute backwater lowlifes completely detached from the truly modern world. Just look at how the savages behave in Ukraine raping, murdering and pillaging indiscriminately. They are scum of the earth.

The average Russian earnings are $500US monthly. Pensions are on average $260 per month.

It's emerging country shit, third world dross where corruption is systemic and no-one has a future and everyone with any intelligence or talent wants out, any-fucking-where.

The young know this, the old are just lumpen cabbages too fucking ignorant or beaten down to think about the truth.

Russians have never had a functioning democratic government, they're incapable of independent thought, they instinctively follow the cult of leadership and know no system other than that of corrupt cronyism. That's why they and the Thai are so simpatico.

He does like to shift the goal posts, it is a pattern with him. He failed to enter all the variables, hideously cold winters, terrible mud bogs in spring when the snow melts followed by a summer of mosquitoes and next to no infrastructure unless you ride a train. Thailand is another story and not even comparable.

I said it months ago. Russia has a finite amount of time, money and equipment.

The west has a much, much bigger gdp by any measure, and they can afford to wait however long it takes.

Economic models take a long time to stabilise. What is being observed now are the transient effects of several large step inputs.
The transients are affecting everyone but in the long term Russia has lost a huge market and unless they can win back trust will never fully recover.
