Based on PPP, China is bigger now. But in Absolute terms, estimated to be 2028 when China becomes the biggest GDP. By end of century will over double US GDP, unless you nuke them first.

If you really want to know how it's going to go, just read Orwell's 1984.

I think he pretty well nailed it, even if he got the year wrong.

Wait, it hasn't been? While the US has been the biggest player, Russia never really fell and their influence has always kept Europe and the US on its toes.

If we reach the point where a single completely totalitarian nation is the only power, George could well have "nailed it". Up to us to make sure that doesn't happen innit?

I do believe that the relationship that was forged between the EU and Russia these past few decades has been a good one, but it takes just one dictator in Moscow to ruin t for everyone, especially the Russian people.
Not too unexpected and just further proof, if there needed to be any, that Russia will never be on par with western Europe mentally, socially nor economically.

A definition of "bigger" would clarify your opinion.

A source of your numbers, would be useful.

Thats nominal USD GDP which over inflates US GDP by virtue of the USD being the only economy that uses USD internally.

    .
That's another way of looking at it. HK and Taiwan really should be included in China's GDP if places like Pourto Rico and Hawaii are included in US GDP

Well sybille I would have assumed an "expert" like yourself would realise that 1984 is about a totalitarian world of three superpowers....

One of the key themes thoughout the book is how they would switch from friend to enemy and historical records would be changed to reflect the "new reality".

But why am I bothering, unless they did a pop-up or colouring edition, you haven't read it.

Nothing in my post suggests I'm unaware of anything you posted regarding '1984'.

Maybe your time would be better spent popping out for some 'go faster' stripes for your Suzuki Swift.

Kinda ironic being an expert on Orwells 1984 and a fair weather supporter of US imperialism and its various ventures in the east

About the same as you've read about Thai law I fancy.

It appears that is what the Chinese believe. The Trading Economics site report them separately.

    They probably believe
