Rare for the government to build electricity generation/distribution infrastructure nowadays.

Snowy 2.0 being a rare and IMHO treasure of regenerative energy.

Pumped Hydro is a simple, yet amazing huge battery.

the distribution and storage is the key - private will build solar and wind farms everywhere if they can get it to a market - either australia or overseas via suncable or more of its ilk

    ^ agreeing with both statements.

BTW it looks like the underwater sea cable and the connecting NT Solar Farm project isn't looking promising.

^ Clouds gather in Singapore over Cannon-Brookes, Twiggy-backed $30b Sun Cable project

Singaporean energy experts have poured cold water on plans backed by billionaires Andrew Forrest and Mike Cannon-Brookes to export solar power to the island nation, saying they are likely to be too expensive and impractical.

William Stroll, a Singapore-based lawyer specialising in energy, said the vision outlined by Sun Cable was "commendable" but likely to be prohibitively expensive.

    Sun Cable business case queried

To illustrate the point, Mr Allen noted Sun Cable was facing competition from projects that were much closer to Singapore, such as a 3.5GW solar farm earmarked for the Riau Islands in Indonesia, 270km away.

He said there were also plans to further develop a regional power grid that could allow Singapore to import renewable energy sources, such as hydro-electricity from Laos.

Mr Allen said it seemed Sun Cable would need to find buyers in Singapore willing to shell out a premium for its green power, but he doubted there would be many takers.

    Dear David

I have no problem with your beliefs regarding climate and energy.

    Up to you

That you have chosen to cheer on the "clean" aussie coal narrative, I do find ......somewhat astonishing.

That it is a better fuel than brown coal isn't exactly news. Have been known since they lit it up the first time.

Fuel that you dig out of the ground adds to the CO2 emissions.

    Fact.

And only the arabs are dirtier than your lot.

Doesn't it ring a bell, that someone might be spinning a tale for you ?

You can hate the Greens all you like, but they have taken a stand.

I haven't yet voted for a green party.

The german experience looks too scary.

    I might some day

I watched that for a few minutes and there is only so much one sided crap I can tolerate.

I like to be informed, not barraged with a lot of supposed 'facts' which are just bullshite.

Just one point from the video to discuss before the BS got too much.

The commentator states that under a 'Labor' Government, the Army was deployed almost instantly by Kevin Rudd and then went on to show Kevin Rudd helping moving some suitcases out of a house, on stilts which had knee deep water around it.

When the recent NSW floods hit, early on the Army was offered to assist but the head of the NSW Emergency Services declined and underestimated the magnitude of the flooding. Below ...

SES boss defends decision to reject army assistance days before northern NSW floods

NSW State Emergency Service (SES) commissioner Carlene York has defended a decision to reject offers of help from the army in the lead up to the state's flood crisis.

One report published on Sunday revealed an Australian Defence Force (ADF) representative twice contacted the SES on February 25, three days before the deadly flooding began, but were told they would not be required. Here

So, you have a guy mouthing off a series of 'facts' some of which are complete bullshit or an extreme distortion of the facts.

One thing about this current Labor group running for office.

Might have an uninspiring, bumbling leader (and ScoMo has an equal number of faults) but the team of shadow ministers seem more then competent in running their portfolios.

Shadow Foreign Minister, Shadow Finance Minister stand out as great performers for Labor.

^ Disgusting piece of work that guy.

At a Federal level, they need something along an ICAC ... but I didn't like what happened to Gladys Berejiklian, she was a loss to NSW.

Maybe could have been the PM one day.
