The wall street boys made a lot of money from china as it grew from practically nothing to a superpower in a couple of decades — fair play to china for bringing hundreds of millions of people out of poverty.

Though, no one except china wants a world superpower that does what they did to hong kong (after promising one country, two systems) and threatening Taiwan.

Not to mention a thousand other "totalitarianistic" things china does to their own people.

I think I'm speaking for the world when I say, "we don't want China as the world superpower.

Yet that's exactly what the US made China when Clinton gave it most favored nation status under WTO. And this was done for regime change purposes. Now the same ppl want us to go to war with China. Fuck that.

Not go to war — just make sure the world isn't controlled by the CCP, a totalitarianistic organization.

The US is threatening war over Taiwan. Hong Kong is part of China. So is Taiwan. If both went under the admin of the CCP , that's not them taking over the world.

If the US really didn't want China to control the world , then why isn't it dismantling trade between the 2 ? Instead , the US trade deficit with China is higher than ever. And even expanded under Trump

    You make fair points, though:

No it isn't: I'd actually advocate full war from America to defend Taiwan — the west is moving in that direction as they should.

Taiwan is a beautiful democracy that must be protected compared to the pychopaths of the CCP.

Unfortunately the NaGastani subsequently lost their control. Now it finds it impossible to survive without Chinese imports, and more seriously, can no longer can envisage ever recovering, not only financial control but leadership globally and their ability to compete competitively industrially.

Regarding the "Eastern trade block", it is already China's largest Export and Import market.

Which part of the declaration are you suggesting has been annulled?

Joint Declaration of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the People's Republic of China on the Question of Hong Kong

China has the legal authority to decide laws governing Hong Kong:
    Annex: 1

ELABORATION BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA OF ITS BASIC POLICIES REGARDING HONG KONG

    Clause II

"After the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the laws previously in force in Hong Kong (i.e. the common law, rules of equity, ordinances, subordinate legislation and customary law) shall be maintained, save for any that contravene the Basic Law and subject to any amendment by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region legislature."

I really hope that you can cease and desist your propensity to advocate war, as a solution to every international problem.

No one wants war. War is expensive, in both lives and materiel. Any conflict usually end up with one of the protagonists having a massive egg on face moment, and both sides lamenting the cost.

Diplomacy and soft power projection can often prevent such costly errors, and both sides are aware of this.

Some millennials like you stilll think of war in terms of a computer game. It is not a game!

War is unnecessary and expensive in terms of lives lost and materiel expenditure. In the end, no one really wins anyway. War is like you. Futile and pointless.

Yes....the government in exile, if you will.

I read an account from the mid 1940s by a Chinese Ch'an master, referring to the communists as gangsters. Strangely enough, after all this time they still behave like that.
