@switch - here in PH, foreigners can get vaccinated as long as there's supply. Davis had Pfizer & Topper had Moderna (or vice versa?) and both were c/o the govt. I know 2 other foreigners who had Sinovac - so it really depends on luck and the supply available at the time. I've had Pfizer (more recently) while my mom (a senior, higher priority) had Sinovac in June/ July.

Similar to Indonesia, most health workers here were jabbed with Sinovac since it was the first that was available. There's talk whether they should have a booster dose since it's past 6 months since they got their shots. However, the govt is trying to balance the scales, since some people in the provinces haven't had their first jabs.

Re: distribution, due to having lots of islands, I think the main vaccines to be given to remote places will be Sinovac & AZ, since they don't need sub-zero storage temps. Also maybe J&J, since it's only 1 dose.

For US veterans in PH, they can get jabbed via the VA. I've heard that they gave J&J so that it's one and done.

@MM - yeah, in some areas the situation is really bad. Some weeks ago, the hospitals in my area all had "full capacity" signs. But the situation is improving. From a high of 23k+ cases, it's down to ~10k+ cases. More vaccines will be arriving, so there's hope. I think PH will reopen fully by 3rd quarter next year. By 1st quarter, maybe it will reopen but with restrictions/ quarantine. The govt said that it aims to vaccinate the target population before the May election.

Similar situation here, minus the US Veterans obviously. Most of Indonesia is struggling with a huge population, geographic anomaly’s, spread over a large area.

Bali was given early dispensation for vaccine priority, because as an island it depends mostly on tourism. The vax programme stated in January this year. The dose rate and vaccine availability reflects this, with 75%+ first doses and 65%+ second doses.
The whole country is at about 25% for full coverage with both doses. Availability of vaccines is starting to improve via both donated help and WHO Covax scheme.

Bali airport scheduled to reopen for international travel from 14 October, with Bali hotels registering for 5 day quarantine availability.
