Here ya go PH, don't say I do not help you out from time to time.

Badiocao is sometimes termed the Chinese banksy. He lives in Australia. And, our very own ABC has made a documentary about him, "China's Artful Dissident"-

China'''s Artful Dissident : ABC iview

And of course, the Italian city of Brescia just flipped the bird at the Chinese embassies protestations, and went ahead with Badiocao's exhibition. Rightfully so.

Not sure if that works where you are though.

This will though- Ai Weiwei, another more famous Chinese dissident artist being interviewed-

Fill yer boots. Dissident voices welcome on this thread actually, I'm sure you can do better than that militant BJP garbage.

    Zhao Lijian:

China firmly opposes the groundless accusation and smearing against China's religious freedom by the US side.

The Chinese government protects citizens' freedom of religious belief in accordance with law. In China, there are nearly 200 million religious believers, over 380,000 clerical personnel, about 5,500 religious groups and over 140,000 places of worship registered for religious activities.

People of all ethnic groups in China fully enjoys the freedom of religious belief. Facts speak louder than words, and a lie repeated a thousand times does not become truth.

The spread of Islamophobia and other extremist ideologies in the US has caused a lot of tragedies. Instead of reflecting on itself, the US has frequently used religious issues to interfere in other countries' internal affairs in disregard of facts. The US side should face up to its own problems, manage its own affairs well, respect facts, set aside prejudice and stop using religious issues to interfere and smear other countries."

Well, the missing tennis star is no longer missing. She probably just went to ground for a while to avoid the press jackals, and probably not wise to raise your head above the parapet too far in Xi's China no matter who you might be- just ask Jack Ma.

Of course you would accept a newly set up fake government account and some smiley pictures with cuddly toys posed under threat.

    Bigmouths China can do without.

In the face of an irrational Australia, shouldn’t China be prepared with an iron fist?: Hu Xijin

Australian Defense Minister Peter Dutton on Thursday replied to my warning to his threat toward China. He said, "They're words of a bully, not an international player."

I would like to respond to him again: The US, which Australia is preparing to follow when a war breaks out in the Taiwan Straits, is the world's bully, and Australia's role is like a barking dog.

Last weekend, Dutton said it would be "inconceivable" for Australia not to support the US in an action, if the latter decided to intervene militarily should a war breaks out in the Taiwan Straits. On Monday, I tweeted, "If Australian troops come to fight in the Taiwan Straits, it is unimaginable that China won't carry out a heavy attack on them and the Australian military facilities that support them. So Australia better be prepared to sacrifice for Taiwan island and the US."

Dutton is one of Australia's most radical anti-China politicians. He has been a member of parliament for 20 years and is also a well-known Australian big mouth. He has not only repeatedly attacked and smeared China, but also uttered vicious words against Australia's neighboring countries, such as Australia was "taking the trash out" by deporting criminals born in New Zealand, which caused public uproar.

In China, I am one of the outspoken people. But almost all my critical voices refute severe provocations from the outside world toward China. Chinese people generally do not stir up trouble first. But whoever provokes us must be prepared to be hit back. Over the past two years, Australian officials constantly made public statements or hinted they will send troops to join the fight once a war breaks out in the Taiwan Straits. Some of them clamor that Australian soldiers should be prepared to fight. In the face of such an irrational Australia, shouldn't China be prepared with an iron fist and to punch it hard when needed, teaching it a thorough lesson?

You like Dutton PH? Seriously? I doubt you would if you lived here, unless I got your politics quite wrong.
And he is certainly not standing up for Australia, either. Neither helping the US, and it's deliberate policy of ambiguity vis a' vis Taiwan.
He is being a big mouthed idiot. Then again, so is the chink. But the only teeth we've got, belongs to our 'big mate' (or puppy dog handler).

^ I assume that is purported to be written by the tennis player? Sounds like a woman scorned. Where did you source it? Fake, or not?

The WTA and the rest of the world need independent and verifiable proof that she is safe.
Actually what the WTA and the rest of the world needs is independent and verifiable proof that her accusation is true.

Otherwise it is hearsay or liable

'Me Too'. 'He Said/ She Said'. A nice little celebrity scandal to fill the gossip rags- I mean, how many do we have at any given time. But, if she fails to turn up alive and well it becomes a whole lot more than that.

Frankly, I think several of our resident China Haters would like nothing more than to see her turn up dead.

A woman who made an allegation of sexual assault is "disappeared" by state spooks for making chinkystan look bad. Virtually the whole world demands that she be set free as she clearly hasn't committed a crime (not that that will stop the chinkies inventing one, like "making us look bad").

And you think anyone here would want her dead?

I'll just assume that you aren't that titanically stupid and just shit at trolling.

^^ Then I look forward to your expressed relief when she turns up alive and well, as does seem to be the case.

Your predictable guess, based on no evidence whatsoever. I'm not gonna bother cut n pasting the several photos and videos of her, purportedly taken in Beijing this last couple of days. Lets wait for proof instead. She certainly looks quite happy hugging her grey cat surrounded by fluffy toys at her home, and at a Beijing restaurant with her coach. But I'm afraid, does not meet the evidentiary standard of 'Proof of life' yet.

^ Yes PH, you are not in a court of law (thank goodness). OK?

Doubt any exists but likely she is telling the truth. Wouldn't be the first time a female athlete was forced into a sexual act by the powers that be.

Yes, no-one would suggest for a minute that an authoritarian state known for harsh punishments for dissent would possibly stage photographs under duress.

I'm sure they didn't whisper in her ear that if she failed to make it look convincing she could be facing years in prison for the it-would-be-hilarious-if-it-was-only-satirical charge of "picking quarrels and provoking trouble".

Dang, we got ourself a hangin' judge.

Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai appears in video call with IOC president saying she is 'safe and well'

The International Olympic Committee says Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai has called its president to tell him she is safe and well.
    Key points:

    • Chinese state media has published several photos and videos of Peng Shuai in an effort to quell concerns
    • Criticism has continued, with many remaining unconvinced until they hear Ms Peng speak publicly
    • Almost three weeks ago, Ms Peng accused a former top Communist Party official of rape

The video call appears to be Ms Peng's first direct contact with sports officials outside China since she disappeared from public view on November 2 after raising an allegation of sexual assault against a former senior Chinese government official.

In a statement, the IOC said the call with its president Thomas Bach lasted 30 minutes.

It said Ms Peng thanked the IOC for its concern about her wellbeing.

"She explained that she is safe and well, living at her home in Beijing, but would like to have her privacy respected at this time," the IOC's statement said.
"That is why she prefers to spend her time with friends and family right now.

"Nevertheless, she will continue to be involved in tennis, the sport she loves so much."

Top tennis players including Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Naomi Osaka and Roger Federer have all voiced their concern for Ms Peng's welfare since her apparent disappearance.

IOC athletes commission chair Emma Terho and IOC member Li Lingwei, a former vice-president of the Chinese Tennis Association, were also on the call.

Mr Bach invited Ms Peng to join him at a dinner when he arrives in Beijing in January ahead of the Winter Olympics, and she "gladly accepted," the IOC said.

"I was relieved to see that Peng Shuai was doing fine, which was our main concern," Ms Terho said in the IOC's statement.
Ms Terho, a hockey player from Finland, represents athletes on the IOC executive board.

"She appeared to be relaxed," she said.

"I offered her our support and to stay in touch at any time of her convenience, which she obviously appreciated."

The IOC has been criticised for its public response as concern for Ms Peng grew in the past week.

It has pursued a "quiet diplomacy" policy with China, which will host the 2022 Winter Olympics in February.

Chinese state media's assurances leave many unconvinced

Photos and videos of Ms Peng at a tournament in Beijing earlier on Sunday had done little to dampen international concerns, following a nearly three-week public absence after she alleged that a former senior Chinese official sexually assaulted her.

Chinese state media journalists also posted to Twitter images of Ms Peng at home and with friends.
    China's high-profile disappearances

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian earlier called on Chinese authorities to provide more reassurances, echoing a statement by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) that the images were "insufficient" proof.

"I'm expecting only one thing: that she speaks," Mr Le Drian told LCI television, adding that there could be unspecified diplomatic consequences if China did not clear up the situation.
The United States and Britain also called for China to provide proof of Ms Peng's whereabouts.

On Thursday, WTA chief executive and chairman Steve Simon said he was willing to pull all tournaments from China if Ms Peng's sexual assault allegations weren't properly investigated.

On November 2, Ms Peng posted on Chinese social media that former vice premier Zhang Gaoli had sexually assaulted her several years ago.

Neither Mr Zhang nor the Chinese government have commented on her allegation.

Ms Peng's social media post was quickly deleted and the topic has been blocked from discussion on China's heavily censored internet.

Last week, Chinese state media outlet CGTN released what it said was an email Ms Peng had sent to the WTA's chairman, denying that she was sexually assaulted.

Mr Simon said he had a hard time believing that Ms Peng herself had written the email.

Global rights groups and others have called for a boycott of the Winter Olympics in Beijing over China's human rights record.

Nothing left to see here. Except Conspiracies.

I have just discovered a way to stem the seemingly unstoppable rise of China- introduce Woke, Me Too, and Cancel culture!

But if they don't start breeding more, they will cancel themself out of contention.

I wonder what the authorities are doing about her allegations of sexual assault? It is possible the allegation is false but one would have to think she would be aware of the severe consequences of bringing such an allegation in China against a high CCP official without cause. My guess is it will be buried and she will be in no uncertainty regarding the consequences of mentioning it again. Hopefully I am wrong.

There have been enough CPC apparatchiks executed for corruption to suggest otherwise. Anyway, she's alive and well and asking for her privacy to be respected. Case closed.
