Neither does your statement prove the election was honest.

Or that there was an Afghan government/military junta running the country prior to NaGastan running away.

You have claimed many elections to be honest with no proof as long as it supports your ideological leanings, you have proven time and again that you do not care about proof. As usual, hypocrisy is the order of the day.

Whatever this point you refer to is PH, I'm not bothered quibbling about it. We're out. Phew. Whoopee. Been saying it for years. Now it's done.

It's cost us (Oz) a coupla billion pissed away, not that many but still too many dead, and of course that means a lot more maimed and damaged. We can shrug it off.

The damage to our military pride is inestimable- yet another lost war and an ongoing war crimes enquiry, but it's hard to put a price on that. On the bright side, our influx of Afghan refugees has given us a taste for their cuisine, and they make polite Uber drivers. We have taken over twice as many as the USA, btw.

I think the major post-mortems to be conducted, should be on behalf of the US taxpayer. Over to them- but it will likely never happen. Walk on.

Americans are not able to agree on much these days, so sadly that will get nowhere, as you already know.

    Crikey...really ?

Oz has (very roughly) one tenth the population the US has. So per capita, we have taken twenty times the number the US has....?

The Taliban take complete control of Panjshir province, Afghanistan

The Taliban have taken complete control of Panjshir province, the last area in Afghanistan being held by resistance forces, the Islamist militant group’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said on Monday.

Pictures on social media showed Taliban members standing in front of the gate of the Panjshir provincial governor’s compound.

There was no immediate word from Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the opposition group resisting Taliban forces.

Taliban shoot pregnant Afghan policewoman dead in front of her family

A pregnant Afghan policewoman was shot dead by Taliban in front of her family, tweeted an Afghan journalist. The horrific incident took place in the country's Ghor province.

Nigara, the policewoman, was 6 months pregnant. The journalist said that she was killed in front of her husband and children.

Sputnik reported on Sunday that there was a rush to buy head and body coverings due to fear that Taliban would hunt and beat up women if they were seen without hijab or burqas. The Taliban regime in the 90s was marked by such atrocities.

These developments came a few days after dozens of Afghan women held protests in Herat demanding rights and female representation in the government formation after the Taliban took control of the war-ravaged country.

Protestors were carrying banners with slogans against the exclusion of women from the country`s political system under the regime of the Taliban, Tolo News reported. As the Taliban took control of Afghanistan once again after 20 years, experts believe that Afghan women are most likely to face an uncertain future under the group`s regime.

Sajjan Gohel, a security and terrorism analyst said that women are scared out of their (Taliban) minds."From the Afghan women I`ve spoken to, it`s incredibly traumatic. You`re looking at an entire generation who only read about the Taliban in books. Now, they`re having to live side-by-side with what is effectively a misogynistic cult." Dr Gohel added.

Taliban open fire to disperse demonstrators who chant anti-Pakistan slogans in Kabul

As the Taliban consolidated its hold over Afghanistan, hundreds of people protested in Kabul on Tuesday chanted anti-Pakistan slogans.

Reports said the Taliban fired shots to disperse the protests in the capital. The rally was mainly led by women outside the Pakistan embassy with at least 70 people taking part in the demonstrations.

The development comes as Pakistan's intelligence ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed met with Mullah Baradar during his visit to Kabul on Monday.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid had confirmed that the ISI chief had met Baradar. Taliban had earlier assured Pakistan that Afghanistan's territory won't be used for terrorist activities amid the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan(TTP) threat in the border areas.

Last week at least three Pakistan paramilitary soldiers were killed and 20 wounded in a suicide attack in Quetta as the
(TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
