His English is more colloquial than that; in fact the mistakes he makes are generally grammatical and the ones that native speakers make through carelessness. Slips rather than errors. And to understand the culture of a greasy spoon is different to enjoying a bit of milk.

I mean he could very well be an educated Chinese chap who has lived in the UK for a while, but...the bottom line is that he's a fucking brainwashed lunatic. End of.

Having visited Chinese cities many times as a businessman. Along with utilising Thailand as a transit stopover for any visits I made to other Asian countries and OZ. I had options as to where I could live, post my UK employment.

UK, Canada or Asia.

The UK and Canada I had seen, neither new or enticing.

With China my experience was limited, cities, airports, 5* hotels and business meetings. What I did see in China during my road trips was difficulties and rampant consumerism "western style". Nothing enticing.

When accompanied by our local office staff, similar to Japan, life was good their bubble expanded around my needs. Alone, similar to Thailand, many options were available but weren't what I was desiring, big city location, high-rise flat, choked streets .... China was profitable, the people I met realised they could utilise our solutions into their plans. But China became unavailable, business wise, for me.

I was invited to "take care" of many Thai ladies and eventually decided the beaches, jungle, climate and rural living were the number ones.

Eventually I was introduced to a Thai woman. She had a motorbike, a house and a farm, which provided her an income. After a while we agreed for me to come and live with her. She had here demands, I had mine.

Her parents, brother and sister along with the "proles"/her community were/are very welcoming. Including the Trat Provincial Governor publicly welcoming my presence. More "falangs" = more economic growth, population growth and more voters.

After 10 years we are both content.



As for Champagne, it's overrated, IMHO.

That's what I envisaged.

The reality hit me when I arrived, saw her "work in-progress" house. Then walking the 8 km track, wading the same river 9 times, to her farm/jungle clearing! Her motorbike was a newish one though.

I also have a couple of small plots near the village, well my wife has, (some Thai law I've been told) each with 25 Durian, 6 coffee bushes and 6 Cacao trees on them.

These are mine to potter around.

You know, pay for the sapling, dig up the earth mounds, design and install the irrigation systems, pay the 6 monthly water bills, fertilizer, spray and keep weeds down. A few days a month of work now for each now. Irrigating every 3 days, from November to April.

Three of the older Durian had fruits, all sold except for the last ten fruit, not ripe I'm told. Three of the Cacao now have small buds. The coffee trees now covered with green berries, so touch wood, in a month no more coffee or chocolate to buy this year and the next ....

It will keep her fed and clothed, when I've billowed out the Wat chimney.

No stresses for us, they are the RULES and not to be broken.
