    A definition might be helpful.

    De-hyphenation

In international politics, de-hyphenation means dealing with two countries, having adversarial relationship between them, in an independent manner. This would mean building relationship with one, ignoring the complexities of its relations with the other.

    India's de-hyphenation policy

When Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014, he instituted a policy toward Israel called de-hyphenation.

What that meant was simple: India’s relationship with Israel would stand on its own merits, independent and separate from India’s relationship with the Palestinians. It would no longer be India’s relationship with Israel-Palestine, but India’s relationship with Israel, and India’s relationship with the Palestinians.

What a tremendous load of golleligook. Phenomenal in fact.

I had never heard the term used, have gained nothing from hearing of it, or offered a definition, and will move forward with absolutely no intention of ever incorporating it into my vocabulary

One term I would be interested in learning is the one which describes the growing number of damn fools whose only job it is is to invent new terms where none are required.

    Maybe call them assholes.

India has always declared itself a 'non-aligned nation'. Fair enough too. Why allow ourselves to be browbeaten into taking sides in ideological struggles that are mainly just hangovers from the previous century? Why be a Crip or a Blood- just be neither.
