No doubt in my mind that he was [knowingly] inflicting bodily harm on the victim.

    Guilty of all charges.

Mob justice at its finest. I don't blame any of the jurerers. Hopefully they can bring it back to earth in the sentencing. And he will be at the top of the list for presidential pardons.

Likely depend on the sentence but could be appealed to a higher court.

In this case the Minnesota Court of Appeals. I don't see an appeal will be granted given the below.

"Potential grounds for appeal in a criminal case include legal error, juror misconduct and ineffective assistance of counsel. Legal errors may result from improperly admitted evidence, incorrect jury instructions, or lack of sufficient evidence to support a guilty verdict. To grant the appeal, the appellate court must find that these errors affected the outcome of the case. If the errors would not have changed the verdict, they are considered harmless, and the conviction will stand.

A conviction may also be appealed if the defendant reasonably believes that the jury conducted itself improperly during deliberations or the trial itself. Jury misconduct includes the use of experiments, drug or alcohol abuse during deliberations or trial, and improper communications between jurors and witnesses or counsel.

Finally, criminal defendants often appeal their cases when they feel that they were not provided with adequate representation. To succeed in an ineffective assistance of counsel claim, a defendants must typically prove that but for their counsel’s actions, the outcome of the case would have been different."

    ^ Without doubt!

Chauvin should have pleaded guilty from the get go and this trial could have been avoided with all the sensational bullshit not eventuating.

Will things change? I doubt as this racial divide is too deep.

Minneapolis is one of the most educated cities in America and not some backwater swamp shithole. This verdict is a product of that reality. Twelve well reasoned people all agreed he was guilty. Justice has been served.

Unserious? Not a word I see often. I was going to call you on a made up word, but realised I was wrong.

I can. He could be sentenced for 75 years but doubt will happen. Likely 40 years for second degree murder with the other 2 charges served concurrently.

The judge can state a minimum to be served before parole can be considered. I belive he will judge 20 year minimum. Even if he doesn't, Chauvin is looking at a minimum of 12.5 years before he is considered for parole under Minnesota law.

This is why we can't have nice things...

So apparently right around the time the verdict was being read Columbus PD shot and killed a 15-year old Black girl who reportedly called police because someone was abusing her. She called the cops. They killed her.
