All this for a criminal that violently assaulted and robbed a pregnant woman. They could've at least saved their sympathy for someone who deserved it. I'm sure there were many more far more deserving of such outrage.

Check again, sport. His hand was in his pocket.
Key takeaways from Day 2 of the Derek Chauvin trial - ABC News
Hansen, who video recorded some of the episode, said Chauvin, who did not speak to her, "seemed very comfortable" with the majority of his weight balanced on top of Floyd's neck."In my memory, he had his hand in his pocket he looked so comfortable," Hansen said.

Put him away too. But to give Floyd's family $27 million from a city that can not cover it's pension fund? IMO the country has gone insane.
If Floud had lived a full life, does anyone think his family would have ever seen $27 millions dollars? Do you think they would have ever seen $1 million dollars?
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

Agreed. And I think that 27 million is going to weigh on the minds of the jury.
Apart from being irrelevant to this case, are you reading the misinformation being spread about George Floyd?
There are photos of a different woman, who was raped in Spain, as being the victim in the armed robbery case. There is no information about the victim, Aracely Henriquez, being pregnant and Floyd was not charged with assault, but with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon (he pointed a pistol at the victim).
The internet is full of absolute crap at the moment and many seem to be taking the information at face value.
I did think the defense made some telling points, once you start getting into the fine details of multiple regulations as interpreted by multiple experts, there is always going to be wiggle room.
BUT, that being said, it seems a bit like arguing exactly how big the iceberg was that sank the Titanic. In the end, the boat still went down.
However much you slice, dice and parse out the event, the final question will still be - was it reasonable, and my feeling is that in the end (baring any earth shattering revelations by the defense) that video will still underscore a resounding - no.
^Wondering how the proceeding would go if not having so many footages available...
^ Honestly, would probably never come to trial (in my opinion).
And all of this because of (allegedly) false $20 banknote...
Part of the defense case seems to be that Floyd was overdosing and that's what ultimately killed him. So, even if true, rather than get him urgent medical help, Chauvin jammed his knee into a dying man's neck for 9 mins as he pleaded for his life. Great defense.
Also a reminder that: 'Derek Chauvin was going to plead guilty to murder until Bill Barr stepped in and put a stop to it. So maybe consider that when you defend him. Even he thinks he's guilty'
Wondering why the judges are to study so hard and long when - at the end of the day - the case is decided not by judge but by uneducated jurymen, sometimes even by one only. And he does not need to reason his decision...
So, why the long questioning of the witnesses and their credibility as well? The juryman - carefully selected by the parties - sometimes even cleverly planted - decides as he feels or wants anyway, no matter the boring listening days...
Wow. The pulmonary expert is destroying chauvin.
