    Caitlin Johnstone Speaks Frankly -

A bit dated, yet quite relevant in today's caustic atmosphere.
The Aussie pundit and critic continues to ruffle feathers from those usual circles.

Why I Don’t Criticize Russia, China, Or Other Unabsorbed Governments

When asked in an interview why he spends the bulk of his time criticizing his own government, Noam Chomsky replied:

“My own concern is primarily the terror and violence carried out by my own state, for two reasons. For one thing, because it happens to be the larger component of international violence. But also for a much more important reason than that: namely, I can do something about it. So even if the US was responsible for 2% of the violence in the world instead of the majority of it, it would be that 2% I would be primarily responsible for. And that is a simple ethical judgment. That is, the ethical value of one’s actions depends on their anticipated and predictable consequences. It is very easy to denounce the atrocities of someone else. That has about as much ethical value as denouncing atrocities that took place in the 18th century.”

Ah yes, the 'Don't interfere with our internal affairs' thing.

In fact, don't even talk about them.

Quite amusing coming from one of two posters who endlessly blather drivel about the affairs of western countries, sometimes linking to utterly spurious sources.

Perhaps, with my poor English, I quite do not get what do you want to tell us: (Aren't you contradicting to yourself?)

Are you more concerned about the poor Uighurs than about what's happening in front of your house?

Hoohoo will be livid he didn't get to post this crap first.

Although it appears this wittering harpy specialises in anti-US drivel.

I really don't know why 'Arry is such a fan of US imperialism. I think it was Obama. Obama's first term destroyed the anti war movement

There are plenty of reasons to criticise the US. One doesn't need the insane ramblings of government propaganda or gibbering lefties to deduce that.

"Unabsorbed governments". I like that term- although 'non-aligned nations' is probably more neutral. Don't mnd this Caitlin Johnstone actually, she's made it onto my Favorites list.

    Good One:-

China’s success on the world stage benefits the Chinese people. America’s success on the world stage comes at the expense of the American people.

Lord, please let me love myself the way western centrists love criticizing the brutality of non-western governments while ignoring their own.

The King, grotesquely obese, was found dead shitting himself on a toilet. How apropos. But some say he just returned to his planet.

^ I am afraid that wasn't my point. "The king is naked" or "The Emperor has no clothes" is an idiom based on an old fairy-tale by H.C. Andersen (Helge, are you here?)

It is used to describe a situation in which people are afraid to criticize something or someone because the perceived wisdom of the masses is that the thing or person is good or important.
in Anderson's story, clever imposters play on the emperor's vanity by saying they provide him with a suit that is only visible to people who are clever and competent.

Finally, only a little kid (kids are straight forward, they cannot be BSted) shouts: "The king is naked, has no clothes"...

Similarly the lady in the OP speaks also straight-forwardly, calling the things by their real names...

D'uhh, yes I know. And i don't need Helge to remind me who Hans Christian Andersen was either.
