I was quizzing the Boys (7yo's) the other day and the subject was Country's Capitals.

    What's the Capital of ...
    Australia? ... Canberra both answered.

    Italy? ... Romans! (close enough)

New Zealand? ... and there was silence. I thought at least I'd get the incorrect answer of Auckland (one of their Aunts lives there).

Then one of them shot his hand up with his indication he knew the answer.

    'I know
' he said excitedly ... 'The capital of New Zealand is Bondi' ...
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

A belated Happy Australia Day from the crew of HM Bark Endeavour.

Cap'n Cook is on deck and about hoist the mizzen. He was actually a mere Lieutenant in 1768 and newly promoted to this rank just to enable him to command the Endeavour.

Australia Day? Invasion Day? Survival Day or just 26 January?-img_20210213_213557-jpg

Roger the cabin boy is at the top of the foremast where he has climbed like a monkey to try and evade another tortuous rogering at the sweaty hands of Seaman Staines who is at the wheel.

Master Bates is manning the portboard main cannon and is a proper pirate peg-leg if you look closely

A proper shower of salty seadogs haaahaaar.

Did you know that a piece of the Endeavour went to the Moon. Yes the Apollo 15 crew took a small piece of the wooden hull with them when they went on their lunar expedition as a tribute to a great historical journey of discovery and exploration.

The space shuttle Endeavour was also named after His Majesty's famous Bark

Right, of course. Just go off on a 2000 year holiday, and leave the indigenous people (which includes most of the Hebrews, who did not leave) to tend the garden until you get back. You crack me up- Butthurt some?

As an outsider looking in from what i can see the Abos like the Native Americans seem to get a pretty raw deal. Poverty, unemployment, poor housing, lack of opportunities and discrimination by the police and the courts .. Then when a community is blighted like that the inevitable addiction problems through drink and drugs take a grip and the cycle just goes round and round

What, you wish to ethnically cleanse us? That figures. But my fellow indigenous citizens of Australia are not calling for that at all- you would need to travel to other parts of the world to find such bigotry and hatred. Australia is multicultural, diverse, and proud of it.

^^ A dubious assertion, but nevertheless- Palestinians have always inhabited Palestine & Israel, and in far, far greater numbers than the small rump of practising Jews, because the majority integrated and assimilate with the rest of the indigenous population over time. But you are calling for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Palestine, whereas I am certainly not suggesting the ethnic cleansing of Jews. So what is your idiotic point, forum dumfuk?

And what on earth does this have to do with Australia Day, thread polluter?

Yeah lets go back and change history, hopefully we can arrange so your mother and father don't meet then we wouldn't have you around.
When are people going to realise you can't rearrange history you can only learn from it.
In the last 50 years in Australia there has been massive changes in respect to Aboriginal people.

Make a Poll robbie- how many Australians support the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their State and ancestral homeland of Palestine.

Then run a Poll asking how many indigenous Australians support the ethnic cleansing of all other Australian citizens from Australia.
And compare it to a Poll of how many Palestinians want the Israelis out of Palestine.

How much Aboriginal land did you lot steal from them ?
Not sure to whom you are referring when you say "you lot" but if you mean me then none, if you mean white Europeans then none as well.
What happened if you want to read some history is the English invaded the land now known as Australia and forcibly took possession of it.

There was no treaty as there is in new Zealand because the Australian Aborigines did not resist as much as did the Maori of New Zealand.
Despite what people say about the natives facing guns when they only had spears it was the same in both places so it really just come down to attitude.

I do not have the skills or patience for such ventures Willy. I buy stuff that other people have built.

Happy to finally get an Endeavour as I have been looking out for one for ages.
