The conservative are the right wing of the Republican Party.

An actual conservative is a bit offended by being associated with these RWA's. Thus they are Conservatives, in modern code language. Notice the not so subtle difference?

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I considered confirming my choice of small c conservatism, but felt that it was probably pointless for any serious contributor to this more cerebral discussion.

Somewhat related to the OP, is a theory as to why polls consistently underestimated D. Trump. Liberals are more likely to be willing to talk to people or even answer automated polls. Conservatives are less open to answering questions. Therefore, there is a built-in bias and savvy pollsters should move their answers 2-3% to the right.

That makes perfect sense.
If you mistrust the media it makes sense that you might not want to talk to them, also given trump's behaviour some people might be embarrassed to admit readily association with the waste of human skin that occupied the white house for four years.
