    The Georgia Senate Run offs

So Perdue literally chickened out of the debate in Georgia. Damage limitation after getting raped the last time.

After standing alone on a debate stage in Georgia, Democratic senatorial candidate Jon Ossoff roasted his Republican incumbent opponent, David Perdue, with a simple tweet that came in the form of a chicken emoji.

No words were needed alongside a photo the Democrat posted of himself standing alone on the debate stage following the event held during the weekend ahead of the state’s upcoming runoff elections. Both Mr Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, another Republican incumbent, are facing challenges from Mr Ossoff and Raphael Wornock, respectively.

The photo showed Mr Ossoff pointing his hand towards the empty podium he stood alongside, which should have been occupied by Mr Perdue, at the Atlanta Press Club.

His Sunday night tweet quickly went viral, receiving more than 115,000 likes by Monday afternoon.

So when you've finished warning them the election is rigged, start insulting them. Good call!

President Trump has already started the blame game in races that aren’t even over yet.
In a tweet Monday evening, the president said Georgia “RINOS” will be to blame for losses by the state’s two Republican incumbent senators facing runoff elections next month.
“RINOS @BrianKempGA @GeoffDuncanGA, & Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, will be solely responsible for the potential loss of our two GREAT Senators from Georgia,” he said, referring to, respectively, the state’s governor and lieutenant governor by their Twitter handles.

The mailbox here is stuffed full of fliers everyday. I stand by the outdoor trash can and sort them from the real mail as they will overfill an indoor trash bin quickly.

This one came addressed to my Republican mother. Thought you all might like to see just because of who sent it.

Good on you. We will not get both that would be a miracle.

Also on that vote is Ga. Public Service Commissioner. Currently 88-year-old Bubba has not done a bad job (knows climate change is real, is all for renewable energy) but he is 88, and he does let Georgia Power get away with high rates and a bit of coal pollution from Plant Scherer.

...even one would be a miracle...it's in the realm of media fantasy that Dems will take either seat...exactly the same as the "blue wave" predictions and all the other happy horseshit broadcasters constantly purvey...we won't know anything until the fat Christian redneck voters sing...and I strongly doubt Dems will be happy with either result...

so are any of the candidates promising that they would vote for the stimulus and give all americans 1200$ ?

surely that would be an easy winning move

The Democrats want just that. In fact that and extending unemployment benefits are what is holding up the current stimulus bill. The GOP as you can probably figure out is opposed to both and not surprisingly only interested in bailing out business at the expense of working Americans.

But the dumb unwashed trumpanzees still vote for them.

    grifters gonna grift....

President Donald Trump couldn’t make it any clearer: He needs his supporters to fork over cash for the all-important Georgia Senate runoff elections.

“We MUST defend Georgia from the Dems!” he wrote in one recent text message. “I need YOU to secure a WIN in Georgia,” he said in another. “Help us WIN both Senate races in Georgia & STOP Socialist Dems,” he pleaded a few days later.

There’s just one hitch: Trump’s new political machine is pocketing most of the dough — and the campaigns of the Georgia senators competing in the Jan. 5 races aren’t getting a cent.

The Democrats should be focussing on things like this: The GOP trying to give another $100 Billion to the already rich.

COVID-19 RELIEF DRAFT BILL PROVIDES $100 BILLION “DOUBLE-DIP” TAX DEDUCTION FOR THE WEALTHY

No stimulus checks, but big tax giveaways for well-connected business owners.

...even with tRump sticking a finger into GA Republican authorities (see governor and attorney general) and his minions telling Republicans not to vote (see Lin et al.), I predict that ingrained ignorance, birth defects and fear of any supremacy other than white will elevate both corrupt Republican candidates to office. After all, Republicans know their constituents very well...

There isn't much in it. I think it's going to come down to ad spend.

They have already spent or committed $440 MILLION on just these two races.

    Fucking hell.

It's insane that two candidates blatantly guilty of insider trading and abusing their positions are not only even still in the running but legitimate chances to win.

In any actual functioning democracy they'd be disqualified.

Joe Biden returned to the campaign trail on Tuesday six weeks after the US presidential election, stumping for Democratic Senate candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff at a drive-in rally in Atlanta, Georgia.

The president-elect’s trip underscores the importance of next month’s Senate run-off elections, with both of the state’s two seats in the upper chamber of Congress up for grabs. Democrats need to win both if they are to take control of the Senate by the narrowest of margins.

“I need two senators from this state,” Mr Biden told the crowd, who honked car horns in support. “I want to get something done. Not two senators who are just going to get in the way. Because look, getting nothing done just hurts Georgia.”

Victories for both Rev Warnock, the pastor of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, and Mr Ossoff, a documentary film producer, would leave the 100-seat Senate split, 50-50, with Kamala Harris, the incoming US vice-president, able to cast a tiebreaking vote.

Joe is on it! Key will be in turnout. If Dems come out in force as they did in Prez election they have a good shot at getting both Senate seats.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

If they mail-in in force it will achieve the same objective.

Are we going to get the Republicans declaring the result at midnight again?

The democrats have Stacy Abrams and her machine really hitting the streets. Young voters, college voters, and Asians are the biggest targets, going literally door to door and talking to the constituents in the language they speak. Go for it and go for it hard. I think there is a good chance. Early voting turnout was once again huge in the same districts as the presidential election.

Hopefully if 82% of Republicans think it is going to be rigged anyway, they won't bother voting.
