Bomb thrown into El Monte church criticized for extremist views on gay people, others

An El Monte church that was threatened this month with an arson attack over its extremist views and condemnation of same-sex marriage was damaged early Saturday, Jan. 23, when someone threw a bomb at the building, blowing out windows.


No one was injured in the explosion, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said. The First Works Baptist Church at 2600 Tyler Ave. was also vandalized, the El Monte Police Department said.


The FBI is investigating the attack, which it said involved “an IED,” or a homemade or “improvised” explosive device.


The church, a target of recent protests, has asserted that the government should execute gay people, San Bernardino hate-speech expert Brian Levin said Saturday.

There is a virtual media blackout after Antifa terrorists rioted at the Portland ICE facility overnight.
Nearly 60 Antifa terrorists burned American flags and threw projectiles and mortar explosives at federal police officers last night.
Antifa blocked the street, set a dumpster on fire and tried to push it into the ICE building.
Federal police were attacked as soon as they came out of the building to stop Antifa from setting the building on fire.

PORTLAND (AP) — One man was arrested and one 40 mm less lethal round was deployed after a group gathered outside the Portland, Oregon, Immigration and Customs Enforcement building on Wednesday night, police said.


KOIN reports the large group began gathering outside the ICE building shortly before 10 p.m. Portland police say the crowd blocked traffic and set a dumpster on fire, which they eventually pushed in front of the building. Federal officers then emerged to push the crowd back in order to allow Portland Fire and Rescue crews to extinguish the flames.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the crowd began firing off rock-like projectiles at federal officers around 11:30 p.m. Portland police stepped in once again to help disperse the crowd, using the less lethal round. Police initially said they used crowd control munitions but said later Thursday they were not used.


A 20-year-old man was arrested on charges of riot, second-degree disorderly conduct and attempted assault on a public safety officer.

Alternative for Germany (AfD) candidate Stephan Schwarz was left hospitalized following the beating, which took place in the town of Schorndorf over the weekend.
According to the city prosecutor, Schwarz was manning an information booth when he was approached by around 15-20 individuals carrying Antifa flags and banners.
36-year-old Schwarz was dragged to the ground and beaten by the mob before having his mobile phone stolen as he attempted to call the police.
Schwarz was subsequently taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion.
