A 17 year old emboldened by hateful and divisive sentiment from the president of the US was able to get hold of an AR-15 rifle because of a Congress that is beholden to an NRA that represents a minority of people and kill two people during demonstrations over the police shooting an unarmed Black man seven times in the back in front of his kids.

Oh yeah, and the police and Fox News are doing their level best to blame the victims.

So yep I'd say the place is pretty much fucked.

Currently the last war they won was against a Caribbean Island. Until the country unleashes it's full power there cannot be any conclusion.

According to wiki USA has been involved in 9 wars since 2000.

List of wars involving the United States - Wikipedia

    Afghanistan
    Iraq
    Pakistan
    Somalia
    Open Seas (Indian Ocean pirates)
    Libya
    Uganda
    Syria
    Yemen

All are ongoing, although USA forces have been "withdrawn" allegedly, from Uganda.

For the country with "superior military power" I suggest a lack of success and a failure to deliver peace on 9 occasions.

    Ok, agree but

Roman Empire began to decline starting around 200 AD. By 400 AD Rome was struggling under the weight of its giant empire. The city of Rome finally fell in 476 AD.

276 years from start of decline!

Gonna have to put up with us Seppos awhile longer Cujo.

I know there is a lot of wishful thinking but, Unlike other empires the USA has a large base to begin with, plenty of natural resources, and geographical advantage.
When the Roman empire collapsed there was no base to retreat to. It simply evaporated, the British empire retreated to the UK for the most part, The US , has a different type of empire that is one of influence rather than direct management, it does not have colonies it has spheres of influence. If that influence evaporates , first of all it will not be complete. and second of all the 50 states will remain .
If the USA empire collapses it will still be 3,937% larger than United Kingdom in area and have 262.2 million more people than the UK. so consequently even without "Empire" it will have critical mass and gravity.
Does what I said make any sense?

Nope. Not really. Every yahoo and their dog thinks that

The place is a total distaster right now. The USD in reserve years is 98 years old. The average lifespan of reserve currencies is 96 years old.

And this has been by far the longest empire ever , that retained reserve status while not being the world's biggest creditor.

It took 275 years for the US to add it's first 5 trillion in debt. The US will almost create that much debt just this year.

The UK was the world's biggest creditor right up until 1915.

    It's a provoking thought,but........

If he had another four years, would he fuck up the place so much, that enough people would stand up, and really change the place for the better ?

    Maybe

Easy for me who do not live there to speculate, but...

Would it be worth it ?

Who knows really but I think the issue with him is how the bar has been lowered and norms and conventions broken -- hard to see a way back from that, no accountability is now the new norm.

Plus of course all the hatred and divisiveness he has sown. People are literally dying off of the back of that.

When US troops start leaving Germany , I consider that the end. Some troops are leaving now. But the USD can't be more than 5 years away from tanking. Which will result in troops coming home from Germany and Japan.

The US is the only country still in its world war 2 structure. It's been a long time.

And how does this signify the 'end'? What does it trigger? The US still has hundreds of thousands of troops outside the US and leaving Germany is hardly a big deal, especially when many are being moved east.

Are you contradicting yourself again? You say that the end of the US 'empire' is when troops leave Germany (and you still need to explain that) yet dismantling (partially) an antiquated structure is not a good thing?

    Think, socal.

The sex offender with a warrant out for his arrest, that was shot while resisting arrest and reaching in to his car for a knife, after the women he sexually assaulted had called the police to say he'd turned up in her house and stolen her car keys. That bloke?

The bloke who shot two people after it's been proved he didn't shoot first and was defending himself against armed rioters shooting at him. That bloke?

I don't think it is the end of the American empire at all- but they're gonna have to share a room. That's all. They don't like that, hence the squealing.

They've had to share the room for quite a while - remember the USSR? Now it's sharing with two and they don't like it because whether or not one sees Russia as a world power . . . in many ways it isn't. Militarily it is.

yes that bloke. It's not the cops job to be judge, jury and executioner. Why couldn't two cops tackle him?

That doesn't even make sense. And nothing's been proved. He's just been arrested.
