Nonsense. After Boomers were done with their weed phase , it became a hard drug when the war on drugs officially started with Reagan.

You are a Boomer. And you smoked it in the pre Reagan phase. And your "not US" theory doesn't hold water either. The US is the global hegemon. The US war on drugs was a global campaign. It still is. The US set the narrative. Especially for the Anglo countries

Have you watched Narcos on Netflix ? Marijuana was the main bogeyman at start of the war on drugs
