Bankruptcy (protection) in the USA is different in the USA then many other places in the World.

Ditto for the Bank when they become 'Mortgagee in Possession' in the USA ... Not right, not wrong, but different.

If two takeaway chain 'restaurants' weren't in a position to weather a temporary shutdown in the US then they clearly had issues prior to the pandemic.

One would think that lockdown would have boosted business not the other way round.

My mother worried more than any human that ever lived. I know I have the gene in me. But you HH take the cake. Do you do anything else but worry all day?

Wendy's and Pizza Hut might enter bankruptcy proceedings and you are worried about you wife and dog in Thailand?

Exactly, seemed like other delivery businesses were going great guns.

Also I rather suspect this is Chapter 11 -- so not traditional bankruptcy as Dave's already mentioned -- and even if it wasn't would it be the worst thing in the world if the US lost some fast food restaurants.

Pretty sure they'll survive on the remaining 154,987,222

could be time to take evasive action,so that they will be well looked after, already the top banks in thailand have dropped out of the top ten.

...the article I read said that only certain large franchisees were going into bankruptcy, not the mother ships...

It's all part of a dastardly plan to remove all fast food franchises so there will be only Chinese takeaways and seafood buffets left. Then when the PLA invade they'll be able to feed their massive army thus cutting down the logistical nightmare of finding bland, MSG-laden food that the average foot soldier can digest.

    They're smart these Chinkys.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

You have legitimate concerns regarding China, Headhunter. And this is specifically why Australia is spending up big on defence in the next few years.

But in 1937 no other state (than the one) had armed themselves, they were not really concerned, were they?

Perhaps you should read a bit... What country had armed themselves in 1937? (Yeh, beside the one and their friends in Axis).

Still another year to "appeasement" in Munich (lucky us, we are now out of problems, let others do the dirty job for us) and one year more to Hitler's invasion to Poland. What was the state of the armament in England and France in that time frame?
