Aren't we lucky at TD to have our very own cadre' of Red guards, empowered to tell us peasants what we can and can't be allowed to see.

Have the peasantry reported to you yet the worrying stereotype of a white man dressed in funny costume and a hat, being used to sell porridge? Quaker oats must certainly be expunged from our shelves, lest it turn the ignorant peasantry into a festering mass of racists.

Not as lucky as we are to have a bunch of old soaks accusing others of being 'snowflakes' and then rushing through a week's supply of 'Depends' because of a logo on a packet of rice.

    That's far funnier.

Still upset over being stopped from buying the ‘Little House On The Prairie’ boxset even though you actually haven’t.

How terribly unfair life is for you. A White male AKA. The Real Victims Of Everything.

Those things are definitely the same as a packet of rice.

    No discernible difference at all.

These cultural stereotypes are also a bit pointless. There is this old bint who has carved out a subset career wandering up and down the creek of Hoi An with traditional shoulder baskets (empty) waiting for dim chinky tourists to take photos with her. Before the shutter has clicked she has her hand out for a "tip". That's her job these days.

No doubt the chinkies regale with excitement how the Vietnamese still sell their wares from traditional shoulder baskets, but the only "wares" they are selling these days are image rights.

Similary, I doubt Carmen Miranda-esque lovelies dance their way around the tropics in frilly dresses while transporting a basket of fruit on their head to market for sale, but I bet some bint is dressed like that somewhere making money by flogging pictures to witless tourists.

That isn't an issue of history being rewritten. Trumpanzees do that all the time.

    But they aren't Historians.

Historians who try and rewrite history in Western democracies are usually ridiculed (c.f. David Irving), which was my point.

Similarly, the fat midget in charge of North Korea probably ensures that his country's history books report his birth from the womb of a goddess or some shit, but history will still record that he is an entitled fat c u n t who took over from his megalomaniac of a father.

they'd start threads like this, breathlessly express their umbrage at their 'culture' being under attack, display their frustration at those seeking justice, and then post racist memes and images.

It's amazing how many Thailand-related groups on Facebook attract nutters.

Someone will ask in a Chiang Mai group "what time does the bus to Pai leave" and there will be some retarded wanker straight on it saying "This virus is a hoax. I can't believe you sheep all believe it".

I suspect they are loonies starved of attention, and like our resident whackjobs here, posting their silly conspiratorial nonsense gives them a sense that they are somehow part of a conversation, when in real live people avoid them like the plague. I doubt IRL that they even believe the rubbish they spout, but no-one listens to their blathering anyway.

Similarly on British forums, you get some cretinous BNP simian exclaiming "If blacks/asians/eskimos call me names coz of my colour, why int that racist?!" (they are generally semi-literate), and a load of bald, fat, former skinheads all feverishly click the "Like" button.

Indeed. I worked for a Canadian company in the 1990s and Eskimo was already considered a pejorative term. We were allowed to use Inuit, although it apparently gets more complicated because the indiginous people are not all one group.

How long before the next reason for a protest?

People of colour protesting theIr lack of representation on everyday products.

Could you refer to them as the natives without offending anyone?

Why not just call them Inuit, Aborigial, First Nation? Would you like people like to call you Eyepuss? You're Caucasian. Ask people to call you that.

Would anyone on this forum honestly find this offensive or justify it being labelled as racist?

I don’t think anyone would find that offensive, unless you are trying to imply it is a pic of Ray wearing a face mask.

If it is Ray I would recommend he get a new hair stylist!

    (sorry Ray,)

I heard Canadians use 'indigenous', I never heard 'native'. I didn't investigate after I got called out on my 'Eskimo' faux pas, just steered clear. Actually I never met any Inuit there. Many Chinese snd I remember an Afghani taxi driver. The French Canadians are a whole different issue.
