“I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness...
The dumbing down of American is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance”
― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark
Don't think it ever did.? MSM bought and owned by billionaire conglomerates belonging to associations like Bilderberg Group, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commissions, Royal Institute for International Affairs, etc. Also politicians of all sides belonging to these same groups, meeting in secret to arrange world events and how they should be reported. All MSM stories 'sourced' from Reuters (owned by the same groups) or even quoted direct from "official sources" without even bothering to interject with a critique.
So anything outside the official line becomes a "conspiracy theory".
The job of news is not to critique things.
If you believe that it goes a long way to explaining some of the rubbish you come out with.
No, the crafted nonsense posted and read on the internet already *is* a conspiracy theory. So anything outside the official line becomes a "conspiracy theory
Which puts the onus on the reader to verify the source of this bollocks and unravel the partial facts and lies commonly employed.
Which whackjobs, of course, never do.
If they are meeting in secret, how do you know about it?meeting in secret to arrange world events
Be ever so cautious about imbibing convention and officialdom.
False wisdom and knowledge.
I'm old enough to remember when questioning officialdom on the aforementioned Gulf of Tonkin subject was considered conspiracy theory. Then when it was acknowledged that the official story was a lie it became truth. How many other controversial subjects will end up the same way eventually?
The USS Liberty incident, also in the 1960s, is becoming public knowledge that the official story was a lie. Unquestionably parroted by the mockingbird media at the time.

Conspiracy Theorists: 'Don't believe the official story! You are sheeple!'
Also Conspiracy Theorists: *Believe anything and anyone that fits their narrative no matter how obviously logically-flawed*
The meetings are not a secret, but the topics and planned outcomes are. You know these groups exist, what do you think they do.? Play a few games of golf?
The Bilderberg meeting is an annual conference established in 1954 to foster dialogue between Europe and North America. The group’s agenda, originally to prevent another world war, is now defined as bolstering a consensus around free market Western capitalism and its interests around the globe. Participants include political leaders, experts from industry, finance, academia, and the media, numbering between 120 and 150. Attendees are entitled to use information gained at meetings, but not attribute it to a named speaker. This is to encourage candid debate, while maintaining privacyActivities and goals
The group's original goal of promoting Atlanticism, of strengthening U.S.–European relations and preventing another world war has grown; according to Andrew Kakabadse the Bilderberg Group's theme is to "bolster a consensus around free market Western capitalism and its interests around the globe".[1] In 2001, Denis Healey, a Bilderberg group founder and a steering committee member for 30 years, said, "To say we were striving for a one-world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair. Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn't go on forever fighting one another for nothing and killing people and rendering millions homeless. So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilderberg_meetingPartly because of its working methods to ensure strict privacy and secrecy,[31] the Bilderberg Group has been criticised for its lack of transparency and accountability.[32] The undisclosed nature of the proceedings has given rise to several conspiracy theories.[33][13][34] This outlook has been popular on both extremes of the political spectrum, even if they disagree about the exact nature of the group's intentions. Some on the left accuse the Bilderberg group of conspiring to impose capitalist domination,[35] while some on the right have accused the group of conspiring to impose a world government and planned economy.[36]
Stated intention of secrecy and Globalism. These are the people that make the real decisions that our elected leaders announce.

Wondering whether nowadays The Guardian is also classified as conspirator theorist when they had dared to publicise this? (as publicised by many others, but not MSM)
That was the time before The Guardian publicised also the Wikileaks. Afterwards, when all the hard drives were properly smashed, The Guardian will no longer make such foolishness, hence, can be now classified as "recognized MSM"...

Bilderbergers sound awesome. Doing more for the world than individual politicians are.
Good on 'em.

Okay then. Are journalists allowed to attend – is there an accreditation procedure and how can I apply?
The Meeting is closed to reporting journalists in order to encourage the highest level of openness and dialogue. As a result, there is no accreditation of journalists.
