Thread: Bangkok teacher sentenced to 10 years in US prison

Steven Prowler, who taught English in Bangkok until he was caught having sex with underage boys was just sentenced to 10 years in a US federal penitentiary under the PROTECT act, which makes it illegal to travel overseas to have sex with children. He was a strange little guy whom I met during my short-lived teaching career. He apparently took lots of pictures of his little Thai friends, to whom he paid around 200 baht a gobble. I doubt if he'll survive in the general prison population, even those guys treat child molesters as the lowest of scum:

I met the guy briefly, discerned he was gay and very weird, but had no idea about his criminality. I rarely hung around with other teachers to hear any gossip. The facts I mentioned were from the Bangkok Post and Nation when he was busted a few years ago. Several hundred photos were discovered in the police bust. There's an amusing newsclip of Prowler being dragged onto a plane back to the US. He didn't look very eager to go. There's a certain poetic justice that he will probably be having lots of unwelcome sex with very unpleasant people in the federal pen.
