Talk about hype. when the title says internet users will be required to 'scan their face' what it should say is 'submit a photo'.

We have all enjoyed what will be looked back on as the cowboy days of the internet.

Everything was free in the early days, but now you have to pay and subscribe for any of the decent news sites in Australia, for example.

Anonymity is something we have all enjoyed on sites such as this, but 20 or 30 years from now I predict that even joining sites like TD will require ID - and most likely in the form of facial recognition.

I wouldn't be surprised if we will have to do the same when setting up internet access accounts - you already have to give your name, but we are being programmed into believing that facial recognition is a good thing as it is faster and protects others from using our accounts.

Big brother is only going to get bigger, and the young generation is never going to know anything different than logging in using your face as Apple, Facebook and other big players feed it to us as being a good thing.

I don't recall any regulation in the US saying that the federal government can collect facial recognition or any other biometric data before you can have an internet connection. Maybe you could find me the link.
And you actually believe that its as simple as this ? This was something that just came down at the federal level from Xi and now every single person far and wide, through the whole country, is now required to submit biometric data (presumably by mail bc you dont have an internet connection) to get internet ?

So I'll take that as a "no" then.
