And is curtain twitching the Australian national sport or something?

Do you ever have anything positive to say?

    Passive aggressive ... Me? NAH

We all have recycling bins ... a standard size.
the people who lived in the joint before also had a standard size.

They made a visual focus and probably a talking point about how they are helping the environment.
Then they do the exact opposite.

    Our Family?
We drive an LPG Car, LPG being a waste product which used to be burnt as a by-product of refining petroleum.
We compost. We try and grow some of our own veges. Lower food miles and all that.
    We have solar cells.
    One TV.
I mentioned these and more talking points before.

And is curtain twitching ... Fuck off Cnut, you have no idea.

We live in a quiet street, I know all my neighbours.
When the 92 year old neighbour's car had a flat battery, I'm around there with the charger at her bequest.
When her husband passes, she asks if we can attend the funeral.

My adjoining neighbour collects my mail when we are overseas, as a thank you, I mow his lawn and slip him a 6pac of beer.
When his Dad died, about a decade ago, he asked me to MC his Dad's Funeral as he had no idea.

So cyrille, Fuck off Cnut, you have no idea ... it's called a neighbourhood when people engage socially with those who have points in common, help those who they can, ask for help when it's needed, but smart enough not to live in each other's pockets.

    ---

Back to my original post, the point, that you missed, is the façade of doing something (the large recycling bin) when the reality is, you are doing the opposite.
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

It seems to be a statement that they are environmentally aware ... look at our extra large recycle bin, we are doing out bit to save the planet.
maybe that particular bin was selling at a reduced price.
maybe they're planning on doing some remodelling soon in their new home, and will soon need the larger bin.
maybe you don't have any idea at all, eh curtain twitching dave?

I'll just do the first one as it's reach-a-round white-knighting for cyrille

The bins can only be purchased through the local Council ... you pay more for a new bin and a higher annual fee.

Indeed they are re-modelling. Hence the skip they ordered, they one they wacked the tress and old building material into.

Ray, you are a dick ... have you got any idea what goes into a household recycle bin?
Glass bottles, plastic milk bottles (remove the lids first), beer cans, plastic water bottles, tin cans etc.
Old building material ... err ... nah.

"curtain twitching" ... nah again ... can't see them from any of my windows. Ray, fail again

Ray, do you exchange Christmas gifts with your neighbours, a casual beer together, share power tools? No?

Reach-a-round, as I said above to cyrille ... "you have no idea ... it's called a neighbourhood when people engage socially with those who have points in common, help those who they can, ask for help when it's needed, but smart enough not to live in each other's pockets."

well it's a minor miracle then that you're able to deliver and promise such a detailed accounting of the arrivals and departures of the air con, insulation, and solar panel companies.

Well, Ray, since I have to explain it to a simpleton ...

When I walk out to the car to take the kids to School etc, and their house is on the opposite side of the road and there are work vehicles with names such as Ray's dodgy Air-Con installations, let me blow out your hot air.

Or Cyrille's plumbing company ... The Turd Burglar.

Even a sharp mind like yours might be able to deduce what trades are working at the house

I love that Ant sits there white knighting her completely convinced all is gospel on this subject and we're all doomed based upon "science fact" because the earth has never faced anything like it in Scientists knowledge.....extending back.....

Still i'm not saying that we don't face problems but its much easier to preach and not do ensconsed in your Aircon office with a few v8 guzzlers for the weekend and theaching the kids to get around on their electric scramblers. Fooking hilarious....cue Triggered gif et al what a fooking hypocrite.

I really don't get this thing where people are saying that unless you renounce all technology and modern conveniences and go live in a cave then you're being hypocritical on climate change. It's just a dumb argument.

The person who invented the more energy efficient light bulb did so working under inefficient lighting and the person who invented solar panels had them produced at a factory using standard power generation -- you make use of the technology that is available at the time -- and change is not going to be affected by a small group of people doing everything perfectly, it's going to come when everyone does everything imperfectly.

It's that last bit that is the real issue however because there actually is a minority who are too ignorant and/or selfish to even do the bare minimum.
It's exactly the same as the 'can't be a socialist and have a good tailor' 'argument'.

Some people want those whose views they disagree with to be marginalised. They won't be a threat in their caves.

The whole energy efficient future will include greater self reliance, and that's difficult to buy shares in.
Thank you for illustrating the point.

You may now continue to rant and make up things about my lifestyle to give yourself some windmills to tilt at.

Ant not sure what mixing posters posts is supposed to achieve apart from demonstrate you can't counter my comment on your lifestyle hypocracy.

Jeez its incredible people actually found you so offensive or sharp you drove them off here. By the way i'd distance my self from the folk who's country is decimating the Rainforest by slash and burn to raise the bbq beef you're so fond of helping them consume. Hope the logs were ecologically sourced

It's to demonstrate that your posts illustrate perfectly exactly what I was saying.
