Quite a few people not caring about child welfare on here.
Her twitter feed shows she would be quite capable of debating with her doubters and detractors on here.
Here we go again...As you may have noticed, the haters are as active as ever - going after me, my looks, my clothes, my behaviour and my differences. They come up with every thinkable lie and conspiracy theory. (Thread->)

It seems they will cross every possible line to avert the focus, since they are so desperate not to talk about the climate and ecological crisis.Being different is not an illness and the current, best available science is not opinions - it’s facts. ->

I honestly don’t understand why adults would choose to spend their time mocking and threatening teenagers and children for promoting science, when they could do something good instead. I guess they must simply feel so threatened by us. ->

But don’t waste your time giving them any more attention. The world is waking up. Change is coming wether they like it or not.See you in the streets this Friday!#fridaysforfuture#schoolstrike4climate#climatestrike#aspiep
Oh well you could always start a foundation to care for children with emotional instability and mental disorders since you're so concerned about their well-being and them being bullied and stuff.Originally Posted by Luigi
Get around to it after you've stopped calling children emotional unstable and mentally disordered maybe.
Teens that are bullied are likely to suffer long-term effects. As adults they're:
4 times as likely to develop an anxiety disorder in adulthood.
5 times greater risk of suffering from depression in adulthood.
10 times the likelihood of suicidal thoughts or actions.
15 times the likelihood of developing a panic disorder.
But hey, apparently she makes old men angry, so, err, great! Put her up where she's likely to be mocked in front of the World.
Your concern that a child you're denigrating as being emotionally unstable and mentally disordered may be mocked and jeered is...touching.Originally Posted by Luigi
Meanwhile climate change and stuff is still happening but hey let's focus on the important stuff and the real issue here: Greta herself.
if we do have to believe the climate change experts, it's already too late anyhow, so what the fook all the fuss is about?
we should have started to be serious 30 years ago, but it didn't happen
too little too late now, so let's enjoy the party while we can
indeed, it's happening, but guess what, it's too late to reverse anything, so not sure what Greta is trying to accomplish with her tantrum outside of being annoying and reminding us that we are all fooked and it's all too late
thanks for the late warning, Gretta, now go back and enjoy life like any 'normal' kids
indeed, it's quite sad. What a freak show. People instrumenting her should be ashamed. What's going to happen when she is not getting to get her wishes with world leaders? fall into depression and try to commit suicide? all for the benefits of a few Environmentalist loons trying to cry wolf when it's fooking too late already?
what's the point, really?
It's denigrating because you're not in a position to be diagnosing that and you're using it to belittle her and sideline her message over some concern about her being mocked and jeered.Originally Posted by Luigi
Your whole position basically comes down to you've decided that she's emotionally and mentally unstable and therefore everyone has to agree that she is or they're child abusers/endangers or something... Fkn dumb.
Morons gonna moron and mock and jeer her regardless because that's just what morons do.
I didn't diagnose her.
Doctors did.
Exactly.
And the effects of this on her later life could be.....

But hey, you obviously don't care about that. Stick her up in front of the world to be mocked and jeered, eh.
How am I doing for my first foray into Speaker's Corner?
Will have to pop in more often.

What a waste of time on this topic. Just gone off to the absurd now.
Mods chuck this thread into the DH.

You are the one conflating that with emotional and mental instability. Not her, not her doctors, you.
Well you seemed pretty determined to try on every logical fallacy going for size and are persisting with this line of specious argument and spurious questions...Originally Posted by Luigi
So not too bad, pretty solid effort first up all things considered.
Ant, as usual, you are missing the point
her being smart, despite Asperger (actually they all smart by definition), is not the issue here,
the issue is why now, and why so urgent, and why being so angry about it by blaming everyone
fine, we are all guilty, but it's too late anyhow, so let's move on, there is no alternative and the world is already fucked
Err, yeah. And when I mention it, I'm apparently denigrating her.
When it comes down to it, a child shouldn't be put up into the limelight in front of the world, especially when they are unstable and have a mental disorder.
Due to the effects that being mocked and jeered in front of the world could have on their future well-being.
The long-term effects of being bullied as a teen are well known and documented (and listed above).
I'd care for her future well-being (any child's future well being)
You obviously don't.
As they say, up to you. But your lack of caring is a bit sad.
Because you are. She said she has Aspergers, what you are saying isn’t the same.Originally Posted by Luigi

All objective evidence suggests she’s more than capable of dealing with naysayers and detractors with aplomb.
Your straw men are unbecoming, dumb, and increasingly tedious.Originally Posted by Luigi
