Stupid Bullshite politicians espouse before an Election.

Yes, we love to hate them, but some elected officials really speak shite sometimes.

Case in point ... in the USA, the Democrats and the 'the green new deal'

    ---

Australia is coming up for an election soon and the Party, most likely to be in control is looking at
    mandating this ...

50% of new cars to be electric vehicles by 2030 under Labor climate change policy

    https://www.theguardian.com/australi...-change-policy

So, just what percentage of cars on Australian roads are EV's (Electric vehicles)?

    20%?

    10%?

Surely there must be at least 5%

    Nope

    2% ... getting warmer.

    1% ... almost there

Actually 0.2% of the cars on Australian roads are EV's.

Yet the incoming government want to mandate that to 50% in 10 years.

What is the cheapest EV available today in Australia?

Priced from AUD $44,990 for the base ‘elite’ model, the new Hyundai is the cheapest electric car on sale in Australia.

Now, consider that the Toyota Corolla Ascent is $24,370 ... a little more then 1/2 the price of the cheapest EV available.

More BS for the Pollies that 1/2 of Australia will be driving EV's within 10 years.

Me? I have a Family car that runs on LPG.

Solar roof panels and haven't had an electric bill for more then 4 years, we have a vege patch ... I'm saving the planet.

Fuck these grandstanding Pollies who spout out BS come election time
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

Maybe that's a brilliant opportunity for some Aussie politician to get the agency for all those electric cars the Chinkies will be making (from stolen Western designs, obviously).

It says 50% of NEW cars. What's wrong with that? That's a manufacturing thing. It's not saying 50% of ALL cars need to be electric. Many countries now have these policies. It's a sensible and responsible approach to the problems caused by burning fossil fuels. Nobody's coming to take your car away, chill!

You mean actually make something? Why do that? Look how many of todays successful countries started out by exporting services. Hold on... I'll think of one in a minute.
