Of the ten poorest areas in Northern Europe nine of them are in the UK.

By what yardstick? So Brit chavs go for boys weekends in Slovakia, frugal middle class go to Romania, Poland or Slovenia for "cultural" excursions because those places are more expensive?
Link needed, I think, Cyrille, because it's not a very credible claim you've made.

Brittles just need to redistribute all the wealth with a little more ambition. A little more zeal.

Force every successful, dynamic, ambitious entrepreneur to ask himself, "What the fuck am I doing here in this shithole country?"

    That'll fix it.

I was only just born in 1970...

But, from the end of WW2 into the 60s, you can certainly see how a lot of social support and rebuilding was required. I can only talk about me lifetime experiences, and the 30 years seem to have been endless greed at one end of the social ladder and endless benefits for many others - we just don't seem to be able to get the equation right...

What I meant to point at, is that it has become much more difficult to claim, with more hoops & endless ongoing requirements to stay on. Getting on the dole without any intention to get off it was easy back then (I am not British but lived in the UK).

Must be a lot more genuine hardships now than 40 years ago, is my guess.

Maybe with regard to the dole, but there's professional gangs that have worked out how to play the system, and individuals make it their 'job' to play the system, and it's so complex with different areas to claim, etc - just seems a huge out of control system does the UK benefits system. I mean, does this young woman deserve to leave the country, do what she did and for the reasons she did it, then come back and get benefits? But, insane as it sounds, she likely will.

My comment was obviously a follow-up to the video, and evidently Geography is yet another subject you need to work on.

Liberal fuckwittery at its finest. Send your soldiers over to fight ISIS, bring them back wounded or dead, and yet, simultaneously entertain thoughts of caring for this scumbag trollop -- put a bullet in her fucking head.

Could be. My impression of Southern Europe is France, Italy, and Greece.
I can't be great at everything.

Define "northern European", keeping in mind you put England in there for your comparison.

It doesn't include Slovenia nor Romania, however much you want to define & discuss terms instead of watching the vid.

New layers of stupidity in this comment keep being revealed, like an onion.

How on earth would British males going to Russia, Romania, Poland or Slovenia (let's pretend they're in Northern Europe) 'disprove' the stat anyway?

Why don't you just watch the video rather than continue making a complete tit of yourself yet again?

    Oh I remember...it's because you're you.

I think the pertinent question is why they chose "northern Europe" and not 'Europe'.

Probably because by choosing "northern Europe" they could ignore regions of Europe with even poorer regions than the UK.

Another one who can fuck off.

The son of Britain's Abu Hamza is reportedly trying to appeal the decision to revoke his British passport amid the furore of the case of Isil bride Shamima Begum.

Sufiyan Mustafa, 23, was stripped of his UK passport in 2017 after travelling to Syria to fight with jihadists.

But at the end of last year he was said to have been stopped from boarding a flight to the UK from Turkey when his name was flagged as being on the terror watch list.

Now, a source told The Sun he is trying to overturn the Home Office decision to take away his British citizenship.

The insider told the paper Mustafa has been told he can travel to Morocco, but that he doesn't want to.

International law forbids nations from making people stateless by revoking their only citizenship, but the Home Office in 2017 knew Abu Hamza's ninth child had dual nationality through his Moroccan heritage.

When he had his British passport revoked Mustafa, 23, whose father is in jail in the US after being convicted of a series of terrorism charges, complained in an interview with an Arabic newspaper of his plight.

He had previously pleaded for the option of coming back to his home in west London.

The video showed Greece and Spain at a higher rate of inequality than the UK. Mexico #1 in the world with the US and Israel at #2 and #3...hmmm. Estonia, in Northern Europe, also higher than the UK. This was comparing OECD countries.

Interesting video Cy, thanks for posting.

Oh, the UK fares well compared to Romania? Great achievement of the most advanced civilisation on the planet.
