Are you kidding the entire Democratic Party did nothing but try to get rid of Trump from before the election and all the way through his presidency. You must be living under a rock not to see this.

The more I see of Trump and Biden (which is unavoidable if you watch any world news channels) the more I know there's no fucking way I could vote for either of them.

    Democracy US stylez...

Amy Barrett has been confirmed to SCOTUS, was nominated by a reality TV 'star' who played a successful businessman who lost the popular vote by millions of people, confirmed by a Senate majority that represents millions fewer people than the Senate minority, and gives the Supreme Court a majority of members who were appointed by presidents who took office after losing the popular vote...

And she hasn't ruled out handing Trump the election.

New US Supreme Court justice Amy Coney Barrett may be the tie-breaker in a case that could have a huge impact on the US election

One election case could have huge impact

The presidential election is now one week away, and because of the coronavirus pandemic, more Americans than ever are voting by mail.

Republicans in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania have asked the Supreme Court to block efforts to allow an additional three days to count the mail-in ballots. Advocates wanted the extension to allow for the processing of ballots which arrive late, or do not have a legible postmark.

According to the brief, the Supreme Court was divided 4-4 on the emergency stay request, with Chief Justice John Roberts siding with the liberals to allow the extension.

Five justices are needed to grant the Republicans' request, making Justice Barrett's vote critical in the new request.
Pennsylvania Republicans have already filed a second petition for the Supreme Court to hear the case again.

"If it goes back to the US Supreme Court … Amy Coney Barrett … could be a 5-4 majority striking those rules down," senior lecturer in American politics and foreign policy at the United States Studies Centre, David Smith, said.

"It's broadly agreed Trump can't win without Pennsylvania. If Biden doesn't win Pennsylvania, then he will probably lose as well. So it is absolutely key."

More cases could still follow, with deadlines for ballots unclear in a few other states.

Justice Barrett will also weigh in on any post-election disputes that emerge as ballots are counted.

When asked about election cases during her confirmation process, Judge Barrett said she was "100 per cent committed to judicial independence from political pressure".

"I certainly hope members of the committee have more confidence in my integrity than to think I would allow myself to be used as a pawn to decide this election for the American people," she said.

Biden says in video he has created 'voter fraud organization' (video)

"We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics," Biden said in the video.

Republicans were quick to point out his misspoken claim.

"BIDEN ADMITS TO VOTER FRAUD! Joe Biden brags about having the 'most extensive VOTER FRAUD organization' in history!!" White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

Biden may have been referring to his campaign's massive "election protection program," which includes former Attorney General Eric Holder and hundreds of other lawyers in preparation for a legal battle in the event of a contested election.

The former vice president’s campaign told Fox News that over the past several months they have created the largest election protection program in presidential campaign history, involving integrated legal, communications and political strategies for what they anticipate to be an unprecedented election.

    Harvard Youth Poll - October 26, 2020

A national poll of America’s 18-to-29 year olds released today by the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School found historic interest in the upcoming election, with a higher proportion of respondents indicating they will ‘definitely be voting’ than has been observed in the twenty years the poll has been conducted, suggesting higher turnout than has been observed in this age group in several decades.

Since September, Biden’s advantage increases to 63%-25% among the 18-to 29- year olds most likely to vote, leading President Donald Trump among all young Americans 50%-26%

Thank you for that very helpful reply. I appreciate it. Given my (ants in the pants) type of personality , I am sure I cant sit in a Hotel for 14 days to come to Thailand, even if I was willing to jump trough all the hoops nessacery in getting permission to come there. Hopefully the draconian quarantine requirement will be relaxed soon. All the research from prestigious institutions such as John Hopkins Medical University. indicates that over 95% of covid 19 manifests itself within the first 7 days from infection. so the second seven days provide marginal protection to the public.
Reducing the quarantine from 14 days to 7 days will only increase the infection rate of those coming outside the country by 5% and since the daily infection rate in Thailand is what? 3 per day? even if every infection was caused by travelers the increase would be .015 . please don't quote my numbers I am sure they are not 100% curate , I am just using them to make a point.
--- Glad to see the young people getting involved in the political process, It is their future we are mortgaging .
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

Trump campaign ran a Facebook ad implying he won the election, which is supposed to be against the company’s rules

    Key Points

    • Though Election Day is a week away, President Donald Trump’s campaign appears to have a victory ad ready to go on Facebook.
    • Other ads describing GDP figures that have yet to be released and telling people to “vote today” with “Election Day is Today” appear to be strategies to get around Facebook’s rules preventing new political ads from being submitted in the week before the election.
    • Ads needed to have at least one impression before the Oct. 27 deadline to be able to run again.

A video in the ad shows the president’s face superimposed on a sun, with a voiceover pulled from various sources.
“It’s morning in America. Donald J. Trump is still president of the United States,” the video says.
Flowers rise from the ground and open to faces, who scream, “NOOOO!” as the smiling president, now also a hummingbird, flits around.

Trump campaign ads are working around Facebook'''s election rules

The people who run American elections have a special prayer, according to Professor Nate Persily, Co-Director of the Stanford-MIT Healthy Elections Project.

"Oh God, whatever happens, please don't let it be close," Persily said.

Persily said early declarations of victory from candidates should be given appropriate suspicion because of the prospect of a "red mirage".
More than 60 million Americans have already voted, and more than 50 per cent of those have been Democrats. Republicans meanwhile, at the urging of Trump, are much more likely to vote on election day.

That means when election day votes are counted first, it's possible the early results will look like a landslide for Trump — a "red mirage".

But when mail ballots are counted afterwards, Persily said we'll see a "blue shift" back towards Democrats.

"We should be concerned by anyone who tries to declare victory on election night before the ballots are in. We need to give election officials the space they need in order to process all the ballots," he said.

When will we know the results of the 2020 US election? It could get complicated - ABC News
