Dangerously incompetent’: medical journal condemns Trump’s handling of pandemic

One of the world’s most prestigious medical journals has lambasted the Trump administration’s “dangerously incompetent” handling of the pandemic and called for them to be voted out of office, as US coronavirus cases continue to soar.

In an unprecedented move in its more than two centuries-long history, the New England Journal of Medicine published an
editorial in which it said the current leadership had “recklessly squandered lives” and “largely claimed immunity for their actions”.

    • Trump tells House GOP leader he wants a "big deal" on COVID relief

Within a day of tweeting that he was calling off bipartisan talks for a coronavirus stimulus deal, President Trump phoned House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and indicated he was worried by the stock market reaction and wanted a "big deal" with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, per two sources familiar with the call.

What we're hearing: Trump was spooked after seeing the instant drop in the stock market and intense backlash to his tweet, and he has since directed Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to push for a more comprehensive relief bill before the election.

A person who spoke with Trump yesterday said that while he would never use the word "regret" about scuttling the negotiations, they got the strong impression that Trump realized he had messed up tactically.: Trump tells House GOP leader he wants a "big deal" on COVID relief - Axios

How crazy have things become that the current president of the US has been on national television screaming about having his predecessor and current and former political opponents arrested, even basically instructing his AG to do so, and it barely makes the news.

The incumbent always seems to win. Fuckface is postponing all the money printing "stimulus" till after the election. So he can wank off at the stock market more

Only speaking for myself it’s only recently I’ve started to feel “bullish” about Biden’s chances of winning.

At the moment I think it’s Biden’s to lose.

What the population can imagine about the sincerity of POTUS and VP contender when their strongest argument against the incumbent POTUS is the economy drop.

They are never shy to highlight it in a view of the current global steep decline at all strong economy champions as e.g. Germany, Japan, UK, etc?

What do they think about the population stupidness, even if in their each sentence is they do it for "American people"... (similarly we could count "American people" in every Adam Schiff's speech at recent Russiagate hearings and years before in GWB's when trumpeting for Iraq war. )

4 years ago this week, the hacked podesta emails were released...which gave a lot of people in WI, MI and PA reason to not vote for clinton.

you know who's been very quiet recently?

considering the horrible polling numbers for trump, the pivot for GOP members of congress was inevitable.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell drew a stark contrast Thursday between his handling of the coronavirus in the Senate and the approach taken by the White House, which has experienced an outbreak among senior officials and the president.

During an event in northern Kentucky, McConnell said that he had not gone to the White House in more than two months because of how it has addressed the coronavirus.

"I actually haven't been to the White House since August the 6th because my impression was their approach to how to handle this was different than mine and what I insisted that we do in the Senate, which is to wear a mask and practice social distancing,”

this was a calculated move by mcconnell to give cover to gardner, tillis, collins and mcsally (and maybe even graham) to put some daylight between them and trump. of course this is going to drive trump crazy, but mcconnell doesn't care because he knows trump is going to lose and what's coming down the track...and he is desperate to not lose the senate.

everyone's wringing their hands about packing the court...but IMO the cut throat move by dems is going to be killing the filibuster and granting statehood to DC and PR....which results in 4 more dem senators....it will be quite a while before a republican is senate majority leader again.

i'm not convinced mcconnel won't remain majority leader....i could see the GOP holding 51 seats even if biden wins.
and even if schumer becomes the majority leader, he'll still need people like machin and tester to go along with killing the filibuster and admitting DC and PR, and that's definitely not a lock. it would have to be a huge blue wave for them to ensure that they have the votes needed to make some real change.

    fingers crossed.

If you have learned one thing about this bald orange turd and the snivelling cowards in the GOP that back him, it's that he will do anything to get re-elected, and if that means fucking up the election and trying to fight it through the courts, he will.

I wouldn't consider it a victory until every valid vote is counted and it shows Biden has a clear mandate.

Anything less and the revolting orange Jabba the Hut will cause trouble. He may anyway.

Somebody please explain to me what Biden's plan means in regards to the change affecting "social security taxes on wages". Am I reading this right that he want's to raise the cap from $137K to $400K? If so, then isn't that something most average Joe's should see as awesome? WTF?
