I liked this, referring to Trump contracting Covid-19 ...

SNL’s opener last night was Alex Baldwin as Donald Trump and Jim Carrey as Joe Biden. Funny stuff.

    whoops.

Joe Biden's national lead against President Trump has widened to double digits with a month to go until Election Day, according to a pair of polls out Sunday.

By the numbers: Biden has the support of 53% of registered voters in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, while 39% support Trump. Meanwhile, a Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Biden with a 51%-41% lead over Trump — the widest gap that survey has found in a month.

Between the lines: The NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll was taken after the first presidential debate, but before Trump revealed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

TBH, I think if you put a baked potato against Trump it would be leading in the polls.

Looking forward to the first polls after Trumps covid infection. Will he have a sympathy bonus and will it last until election day?

Note of caution: Clinton was up by about the same margin at the same period.

No she wasn't, she was +3.7 in the poll average.

    Biden is currently +8.1.

Also, Biden is +7 in Pennsylvania and level in Ohio.

The more it plays the more the optics of Trumps drive-by Covid spreading look worse.

A sad old man slowly driving past and slowly waving to a small group of supporters, endangering the lives of others, all to feed his silly little ego.

    You're quoting one poll.

    I'm quoting the poll average.

Not that it's necessarily a good thing, if people think he is a shoo-in they may not bother going through the hassle (in some cases) of voting.

That's the danger, complacency -- something Trump's campaign are also trying to stoke in other ways.

    ?????
The constitution does not attribute the presidential election to citizens, but to an electoral college of 538 people appointed by the governors. The participation of citizens, which was not foreseen at independence, has gradually become the norm in practice, but only as a guide for governors. Thus, in 2000, when George W. Bush was elected, the Florida Supreme Court recalled that it did not have to know the wishes of the citizens of Florida, but only those of the 27 voters appointed by their Florida governor.

Contrary to popular belief, the U.S. Constitution does not recognize popular sovereignty, but only the sovereignty of governors. Moreover, the Electoral College designed by Thomas Jefferson has not functioned properly since 1992: the elected candidate no longer has the majority of the wishes of the citizens in the states that tilt the election.

I didn't realise this. That should shave a few votes off the bald orange turd.

Further complicating any comparison, the Libertarian candidate will be on all state ballots but the Green candidate will not.

IMO the polls that really matter are live telephone calls to likely voters in swing states.....and the questions and methodology should be released to the public afterwards.

if the recent data from the polls that meet the above stipulations is accurate, then it's either going to be a biden electoral landslide or a nail biter.

keep a close eye on florida....it's nearly impossible for trump to get to 270 without it.

    I think you've missed mine.

    Statistical outliers don't carry weight.

"Investors Business Daily", which is right wing, has Biden leading by 2.7 points!

This is a fun interactive map to play around with...

    FiveThirtyEight's 2020 Presidential Election Forecast

You can create your own scenarios but what it shoes is with the states that are leaning blue right now it looks like a real uphill battle for the orange moron.

    Why is that Russian disinformation?

Florida is still neck and neck within the margin of error (Biden +2).

Nothing to do with all those miserable retired old white farts I'm sure.

    Republican Hypocrisy at its finest.

    Chris Christie:

"Of course, everybody wants to save every life they can—but the question is, towards what end, ultimately?" Christie told CNN's Dana Bash in May. "Are there ways that we can... thread the needle here to allow that there are going to be deaths, and there are going to be deaths no matter what?"

Bash then pushed Christie on whether people would be able to accept reopening after a Trump administration model projected daily COVID-19 deaths could top 3,000 by June and that 134,000 people would die overall (COVID-19 has so far claimed more than 200,000 lives in the U.S.).

"They're gonna have to," Christie replied.

    Also Chris Christie:

In consultation with my doctors, I checked myself into Morristown Medical Center this afternoon. While I am feeling good and only have mild symptoms, due to my history of asthma we decided this is an important precautionary measure.
Moral of the story: Republicans don't give a shit if you die, but they do care about themselves.

Added: Chris Christie is a fat c u n t and asthmatic, so he really will be shitting himself.
