Racism is so prevalent and inequality so deep in the US the bigots will tolerate anything from their leader as long as at least one visible minority is oppressed. The stupidity lies in the belief that oppression of others serves them well, regardless of how poor they are themselves. History is littered with failed countries that were divided.

Well one thing is certain. If Moscow Mitch and baldy orange cunto try and push through a SCOTUS nomination after the bullshit they came out with in 2016, then they can have absolutely no complaint if the gloves come off.

    You reap what you sow.

It's a shame the Republicans have dragged America down this far.

One good and different thing about Trump is that he hasn't opened up a new war - but there's a few weeks left for him to do that

My prediction Republicans would not risk nominating a Supreme court judge appears to be wrong. In spite of the risk re maintaining Senate majority and loss of Presidency, off they go.

Dems better get their shit together this election and make damn sure they not only win the Presidency but also Senate majority.

Dems can bitch n moan all they want about Reps pushing to nominate and install a Supreme court judge but this is the consequence of running a loser candidate in 2016.

True, but he holds the record for the largest number of bombing raids of any president since Vietnam.

And the screwed up system AKA. the Electoral College.

If Trump does get to appoint a Justice it means that an impeached president representing a minority of the people and with the backing of a lying and hypocritical GOP gets to influence jurisprudence for, basically, the rest of a lot of people's lives.

That's a symptom of a broken system right there.

He may not have opened up any new wars (other than as pcikel's mentioned) but its more Trumpian alternative facts trying to position himself as some kind of anti-war president when he has expanded bombing and civilian casualties in basically every theatre of combat.

There is a good chance they will lose both of those anyway, so they're not going to pass this opportunity up, even if it means proving that they are the hypocritical shitstains everyone thinks they are.

To date, 204,577 Americans have died from the virus (which is an underestimate btw) and millions will suffer with life long debilitating affects from the virus. At a rally in Swanton Ohio, the sleazy criminal tells his stooges that Covid-19 affects "virtually nobody" and they cheer.

FBI warns disinformation campaigns may target 2020 election results

Americans should look to state election officials for trusted results in November, the FBI said Tuesday, as bad actors may try to sow chaos while votes are still being counted.

In a public service announcement with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the FBI cautioned that certifying the results of the U.S. election could take weeks and that "Foreign actors and cybercriminals could exploit the time required to certify and announce elections' results."

One potential scenario the agency warned of is hackers' defacing websites to indicate false election results, causing chaos and confusion without affecting vote tallying systems.

The Russian troll/disinformation farms are working overtime and the rubes are buying it. Read recently about concerns about a 'colour revolution' in the U.S.
This will take hold and be promulgated by the republicans. Combine that with Drumpf saying if he loses it'll be because the election was rigged and you have a recipe for an extremely interesting polling day scenario.
    Trumptards are truly 'tarded.

Trump -- and not for the first time either -- wouldn't commit to a peaceful transition of power following the election having spent months teeing it up to refuse to accept the results:

Reporter: "Win, lose or draw in this election, will you commit here today for a peaceful transferal of power after the election?"

President Trump: "We're going to have to see what happens. Get rid of the ballots and we'll have a very peaceful — there won't be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation."
And all his GOP enablers and those that spent eight years wailing about Obama an overreaching wannabe dictator are complicit and silent.

Imagine what they'd say if it were a leader of another country that had just said that though.

I've seen many articles declaring the American experiment is over.
Systems of government collapse, look at the Soviet Union. (Who by the way are largely responsible for what's going on now)

I dunno about that but it's increasingly difficult to see how they find a way back from this, the damage seems permanent, and that's on the presumption Trump doesn't get four more years...
