    that's pretty funny.

and not only is it funny, it's an amazingly quick turnaround. i think he said that last night in the US.

leads me to believe biden's got a good messaging team that isn't coasting.

    44 days to go.
Anything can happen in that time.
Black swans, Biden heart failure etc etc.

Susan Collins’s voice is so annoying, I’d rather listen to someone scraping both
hands down a blackboard, with 1/2 inch long fingernails.

Apparently Trump's raised 800 million but they've burned through it already.

It's unlikely that there are enough Republicans who would vote to delay a vote on Trump's nominee until after the election. Facing that reality the best that they can hope for is to win a majority in the senate and increase the size the of the court. Unless they can accomplish this quickly it is likely that both Obamacare and Roe v. Wade will be overturned. Unfortunately, elections have consequences. Republicans have shown a willingness to exercise naked political power that Democrats have not.

Fighting fire with fire seems the only way forward if the Democratic Party is to survive.

I think it is the republican party who is fighting for survival. The demographics are in favor of the democrats which is why the republicans only seem to be able to gain the white house by virtue of the electoral college. How long is that sustainable? what would happen if trump wins another electoral college victory? The republican party exists in name only, it is just a bunch of old white guys that have abandoned even the semblance of republican standards, and are trying to maintain power by whatever means available.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

I don't disagree with you and that's a familiar argument however Trump has managed to unite the Republican party behind him in a way the Democrats have not been able to do. The Democratic party and voters leaning left are splintered and cannot unite behind an agenda that mobilizes voters.

Being against Trump is not a sustainable idea for attracting voters.

You forgot self serving narcissistic buffoon.

    Quite incredible really.

What's more incredible is that so many support him, though it seems they've been dumbing down the population for years for just this.

What is a political party, if not a set of core ideals ? so what are the core ideas of republicans and does the current party represents them? if not then how is it a republican party? It is certainly a party, perhaps a coalition of parties but certainly not a republican party .
Is it simply Republican INC. with a new product rolled out as necessary to maintain republican profits?
To say "Being against Trump is not a sustainable idea for attracting voters " is IMO a misnomer , people are not against trump, people are against the thing he does, the type of country he represents. , Or I hope they are.
One way or another trump will go away, if not now, in four years. but make no mistake , there are many trump wannabes waiting in the wings to take his place, both in the republican and the democratic party. They are watching carefully to see what they can get away with, where the envelope has expended too.
IMO the fact that trump even has a chance of winning is troubling, he needs to lose by a landslide, we need to send a message that we will not stand for this, that's not the people we are, this is not the country we want.
even if trump loses, A close election will keep the trump wannabes in the game.

I have contributed to the Biden campaign three times , small amounts. I will tell you this, if the republicans go down that road, my checkbook is coming out. Not only toward the election of Democrats but against republicans in competitive campaigns, and I am sure I will not be the only one.

The Republican Party is categorically a fascist party supporting a sleazy wanna-be dictator who has served them well. They have had to perform like a contortionist over the last four years in order to preserve the party when the sleazeball unwittingly embarrasses them, primarily by distancing themselves from such a buffoon to suggest that they really have little to do with him. These acts and scenes will save the party when the sleazeball is gone and replaced by another fascist leader, who could be just as horrible if not worse.

As long as money is in the political system, the fascists will control it. And if this particular band of fascists control the Senate after November 3, don't be surprised if the sleazeball calls the results of the presidential election null and void, while accepting the results of the Senate election, and stay in the WH. I'm afraid to say that any notion of democracy, what little there was in the US before 2016, will be shredded in January 2021. Welcome to the new fascist state of the USA.

In order to get a better understanding of your post could yo please give your definition of “fascist “?

I certainly don't think they don't have a chance. After 2016 I would never underestimate the magnitude of the american stupidity. For me even id trump gets 40% of the vote it would be troubling. At this point we should not even be talking about this.
