Was corresponding with a friend over the weekend. Not a Trump fan. Special Forces Vietnam. CIA after his military service and still has many military friends that are trump supporters. I’ve met some.

I questioned him about his military trump supporting friends and how they felt after the Atlantic article was released.

    Quoting part of his response………

"These anonymous sources should have the courage of their convictions and go public with their accusations."

He told me that all of his military trump supporting friends are siding with the rebuttal trump gave.

Good for them but we all operate within different circles. This issue will hurt Trump and it's only begun.

‘The last full measure of his disgrace’: Veterans scorn Trump over report that he calls fallen soldiers ‘losers’

President Trump talks to a crowd Wednesday at the airport in Wilmington, N.C., where he traveled to meet with World War II veterans in a private event.
President Trump talks to a crowd Wednesday at the airport in Wilmington, N.C., where he traveled to meet with World War II veterans in a private event.

In 2016, Army veteran David Weissman was an “unapologetic, red-hat wearing” Donald Trump supporter. The Palm Bay, Fla., resident would regularly join social media mobs attacking liberals, he later wrote, seeking to defend a candidate who he said rightfully prioritized the armed forces.

Four years later, Weissman — who served two tours in Afghanistan — has now sparked a Twitter campaign of former service members against President Trump, over reports that he derided fallen U.S. soldiers as “losers” and “suckers.”

“I recommend all veterans to use their Military pics as a profile pic,” Weissman wrote on Twitter on Thursday evening, “to let Trump know how many people he has offended.”

Weissman’s online call to arms underscored the outpouring of anger that erupted from military veterans and their families overnight against Trump, following a bombshell article in the Atlantic that Trump and several top aides have vehemently denied.

The most important part is that he is losing support from this circle some will stay because they'd stay with Trump irrespective of the issue and this makes them the worst kind of voter as they will vote against their and the country's best interests for Trump (not the party or policies) . . . and he is NOT gaining support.

Here’s my humble opinion as a Navy retiree and government worker on a Navy base ... within the retiree ranks if anything I see a doubling down of love for Trump even after the recent incidents. I don’t see or hear a gawd damned soul jumping ship to Biden. It’s simply fooking amazing how they continue to love the orange shit gibbon. Cults don’t just stop drinking the kool-aid.

Within the active duty ranks I’m stating to get a slight sense that they’re not onboard with Trump or at least more seem to be vocal about it than in the past.

No idea what all of the moms and dads and uncles and aunts, cousins and grandparents are thinking ... those are the votes that really matter anyway.

America has been so rich and powerful for so long that it’s become easier for the less fit (in the Darwinian sense) to survive.
That’s why it’s still the first choice of destinations for refugees.
But this means that mouth-breathing imbeciles get to vote.
Anyone with some degree of awareness would realise that the orange turd is a turd.
    The rest, not so much.

What chance McConnell and baldy orange cunto are going to hold back on federal aid for those who have lost their jobs or been evicted, and then try a massive federal bribe just before the election - paid for by huge increase in the national debt? And when the Democrats oppose it, they are going to try and blame them.

    Watch this space.

They're stupid. If these sources revealed themselves they would be out. And how would we then know what is going on?

    Read this:

"The Whitehouse accused one publication of "shabby and shoddy journalism" and called it a "blatant attempt at character assassination". The journalists in question said almost all of their 200 sources were anonymous. "
And that President was a crook, too.

    Yes, Nixon.

There is nothing wrong with anonymous sources and if people are too stupid to understand the process of journalistic source verification they are probably too stupid to even be voting.

And going back to that and journalism.... The Pentagon Papers.

Imagine if the Whitehouse had succeeded in suppressing that story?

Governments need to be held accountable, and journalism is a critical part of that process.

So on top of everything else we already knew we now know Trump mocks troops, interferes with intelligence to his benefit, knew how serious Covid was yet still held rallies and downplayed everything resulting in needless deaths...

The fact he still has supporters just shows how fucked the US is currently.

That really is amazing . . . and don't forget that he required attendees to sign a waiver, so he knew exactly what he was doing - a potential death sentence for some. What a revolting man.

Granted, a rare attempt at being optimistic and polite on my part.

Plus it's actually kinda depressing to think that the planet is shared with people so unspeakably and irredeemably dumb.

    I have little faith left.

They have a president can kill 180,000 Americans by lying to the public, trashes his own active soldiers & war dead, rolls over for Russia, whines like a massive baby and he still has a legitimate shot of being voted back in.
