Joe Biden picks Sen. Kamala Harris to be his vice presidential running mate
WASHINGTON – Former Vice President Joe Biden has chosen Sen. Kamala Harris of California to join him on the Democratic ticket, fulfilling his pledge to select a female running mate and making Harris the first Black person ever tapped as the vice presidential nominee of a major party.
His campaign announced the pick Monday afternoon through his webpage.
Even a prominent Republican senator has called her “tough.”
Biden’s selection of Harris, 55, lends racial diversity, gender parity and generational breadth to his campaign. It also represents a strategic decision by the 77-year-old former vice president to keep his ticket firmly within the more moderate wing of the Democratic Party.
Joe Biden VP pick: Sen. Kamala Harris
What ever happened to Warren
Republicans can’t touch Harris. She has no flies. And, she is the counter to Trump trying to say Biden is anti-police/soft on crime.
I think the world of Norton but how can Biden be seen as 'evil' and almost on par with Trump?
Harris is well spoken. Makes a good pre fab politcian. Like a stage actor
That dig was for Ray ... we had a 'discussion' re Warren some time ago.
I said that Warren had 0% chance of being the 2020 Democratic primary nominee / next POTUS ... Ray disagreed
I stated that Harris would be my preference for the 2020 Democratic primary, then, when that option closed, then for the VP pick.
But that's water under the bridge now
In no way do I see Biden as evil in the slightest. Of course he is far superior to the fool on the hill but maybe it is my age but my enthusiasm for Biden just isn't there.
I was very enthusiastic voting for Obama. Not because he is black but rather because he had a platform I supported and he was a uniter rather than a divider as are so many politicians are these days.
Bidens choice of Harris as his VP makes my enthusiasm go up. Not because she is a female of color but she should bring votes from law n order suburbanites and females in general.
So Harris a good choice to gain votes in battlefield states. Important obviously cuz that is key to a Biden win.
BTW, I was very enthusiastic for JFK but was not quite old enough to vote at the time.

All that matters is 3-4 midwestern battleground states. I’m thinking few blacks outside CA know much about her other than she’s pretty, educated and accomplished.Originally Posted by pickel
Not sure what the means but I doubt if it includes any statistically significant portion of Trump voters jumping to the Biden-Harris ticket.
Anyhoo ... Dump the turd on November the 3rd!

"President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka donated money to re-elect Senator Kamala Harris as Attorney General back in 2014, according to records."
Polls are already showing that white suburban women are supporting Biden so I don't quite know what you mean. They are not all entrenched Trump voters.
Peaceful protest are fine. Defunding police is a losing argument. Supporting violence and mayhem is a losing argument for Democrats. The kind of looting and violence going on in downtown Chicago cannot be tolerated and must be condemned.

So the big baldy orange cunto advert this morning is that if you vote for Biden, immigrants will take your jobs.
How original.
Maybe Sleepy Joe can hand over the Presidency to her right after his election.
Anyway, smart choice as I said. That will give him all the black and women's vote. Trump is finish.
Hey AntRob, can you organize some kind of flash mob once Trump has lost the election. Something like "Let's Make this World Great Again".
I think you and PH are making a mistake, and putting a literal interpretation on a common figure of speech, namely "The lesser of two evils".
Lesser of two evils | Definition of Lesser of two evils at Dictionary.com
The somewhat less unpleasant of two poor choices. For example, I'd rather stay home and miss the picnic altogether than run into those nasty people—it's the lesser of two evils. This expression was already a proverb in ancient Greek and appeared in English by the late 1300s. Chaucer used it in Troilus and Cressida.
In this case, I beleive Norts was right. Biden is definately NOT an inspiring choice - but is the more palatable than the other candidate. Mind you, Kamala might give is "blah" campaign to date a bit more bite. I think Biden got himself and attack dog.
