Imo this is an "outlier" recession entirely do to the virus. Give it a month and this economy is going to come roaring back.

    I may be wrong.

These are exceptional times. The conventional terms do not really apply.

    You're definitely wrong.

Recession was looming before all this coronavirus stuff, it's only a factor not a cause.

This election is completely unpredictable. If virus situation continues through November, reckon lots of folks will "sit on their hands and not vote".

The more passionate ones will still vote - Trump had quite a few of those

Democrats want to drop Joe Biden for Andrew Cuomo, poll finds

The U.S. is in very bad shape and Trump never had it easier. This old Biden is going to be 78 if he gets elected. He could then be the oldest President ever, if I'a not mistaken. Will he be wearing pampers?
Only covid-19 can give salvation to the U.S.

Cuomo would be a shining star.

Correct, but Trump is only a few years younger . . . I believe the choice of vice-president/running mate will be very important simply because the chance of incapacity is a real one

Very exceptional. Without the virus major economies were tripping into recession anyway; now it's a foregone conclusion, but eventually, that's eventually, sure the markets will come roaring back. A month sounds ambitious, would be nice if you are right.

The central banks have not saved their economies; all they have done with these liquid trillions is give the markets some oxygen for a new lease on life, after which they will either move toward recovery or slide into icu requiring more record breaking infusions, which the controllers are hopefully preparing.

The oldest president ever elected currently darkens the halls of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. (Biden is less than 4 years older than Trump)
I find it laughable when Biden is attacked for his gaffes, and cognitive slip ups, when Trump cannot get through a simple press briefing without making a complete ass of himself.

Here's the buffoon without his cheap spray-on face paint, and comb over.

Why, because he looks like his brother?
You dolt, he's been the Governor of New York for almost 10 years. Before that, he was Attorney General of New York, and before that is was Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under Clinton. He follows in the footsteps of his father who was an extremely popular 3-term Governor.

Attention whore? FFS, are you aware of just who is occupying the Oval Office?

I have been perusing the latest poll number over at FiveThirtyEight this morning.

    Michigan Trump 46% Biden 46%

    Penn. ........ 47% ....... 45%

    Wis .........45 ........ 48%

FiveThirtyEight is a website which uses an amalgam of various recognized polls...so as good as any imo.

I believe that we will have at least "turned the corner" in a month.

    This should favour the incumbent.

The Dems could win, but not with Uncle Joe. Too old, too much "Washington" under his belt: not a strong candidate overall.

538 doesn't use an amalgam of various recognized polls, they publish the results of individual polls. and some of those polls have an asterisk next to them...like the pennsylvania and michigan poll numbers you posted above...

    * Polls marked with an asterisk are partisan polls. Partisanship is determined by who sponsors the poll, rather than who conducts it. Polls are considered partisan if they’re conducted on behalf of a candidate, party, campaign committee, or PAC, super PAC, 501(c)(4), 501(c)(5) or 501(c)(6) organization that conducts a large majority of its political activity on behalf of one political party.
