That I understand, but it's put in some nefarious context as though it's a conspiracy by the party machine and all other candidates instead of being a choice by the individuals.
Perhaps if Bernie were actually a member of the Democratic Party instead of sitting in the senate as an Independent . . .

Elizabeth Warren reportedly quitting 2020 Democratic presidential race
Elizabeth Warren, the liberal Massachusetts senator whose sweeping economic plans shaped the Democratic policy debate and the last, is reported to be dropping out of the presidential race on Thursday after struggling to regain the momentum that briefly lifted her to the top of the field.
Warren’s departure from the race followed a series of lackluster finishes in the early contests, including a demoralizing third place finish in her home state of Massachusetts on Super Tuesday.

Was that Doggie in the window underage? where is he
I’m not overly excited about Joe Biden winning the nomination, but if Sanders ends up pulling it out, get ready for four more years of the orange buffoon. Middle America is not smart enough, or forward thinking enough, to accept the policies of Bernie Sanders.
Both Biden and Bernie need to state right now that each will concede to the guy with they most delegates when the circus is all over.
Last thing the Dems need is a contested nomination. Keep the super delegates out of it.

Elizabeth Warren may have many fans, but they did not translate into votes
So, what happened?
Senator Warren certainly has played a masterful game when it comes to public attention.
She has taken more than 100,000 selfies with her admirers, posted videos of herself calling delighted supporters, and regularly fills her Instagram and Twitter feeds with upbeat messages.
On Thursday, her supporters flooded social media with regrets at her move.
So, why didn't she do better? Here are three reasons.
1. The Bloomberg factor
Former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg unexpectedly jumped into the race last fall just as Senator Warren was gaining steam, raising the suspicions that his motivation was more than simply beating Mr Trump.
2. Americans aren't ready
Another problem was one that Mrs Clinton also faced. Americans may enthusiastically back women for lower-ranking political positions, and claim they are ready to elect a woman president, but the majority of states and delegates in 2020 are going to men.
3. A missed opportunity
Yet, she also may have been a step behind. Many people urged Senator Warren to get into the race in 2016, but she demurred, saying she wanted to serve a full term as Massachusetts senator.
Also, she did not want to challenge Mrs Clinton, who a number of Democrats felt was owed the nomination after Mr Obama's win in 2008.
But Vermont senator Bernie Sanders showed no such reluctance to take on Mrs Clinton in 2016, when he took 46 per cent of Democrats' support and won some key states, including my own, Michigan.
... her dogged determination simply wasn't enough.

Warren as Sanders running mate?
I was disapointed Warren did not do better. She was my pick. I thought she was the best "man" for the job. Not my country but the President is more of an international role these days. I dont think Sanders or Biden can beat Trump but Warren and Sanders may. Despite there almost "radical left" tag, they would not be considered so by most Europeans and most of the Anglosphere and are desperately needed if the U.S is going to ever progress to a more equal society. Maybe its time for a five year one term only Presidency. Any takers from the U.S?
