...disagree: Obama provided the intangible that tRump is incapable of: an inspiration to others in terms of civility, common sense, competence, insight into the nations's problems and a willingness to negotiate. Ultimately, his notions of a better society were defeated because he remained a negro throughout his 2 terms in office. That, in many parts of America, is unforgivable...worse even than socialism...
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd
oh come on, he did fuck all. The POTUS is not managing the US economy, this is not the Soviet Union. He was just riding a wave. Ok so he did stop fuckups from Republicans, could have done more with executive orders in that regard, but he didn't because he needed them for his failed Obamacare.
Total failure, weak, inefficient, and un-engaged with real people. A great social manipulator. If you prefer, a smarter version of Trump, much smarter.
an inspiration to others, that's great for the Press corps and snowflakes liberals, but that didn't help the majority of Americans
of course, he was useful after years of disatrous GW Bush public appearances, but in retrospect, he did less than GW Bush. He didn't start a war but didn't stop one either, kept fueling the legacy ones.
his only merit was that he was black, and that he was very articulate and very presidential. That's great for the first 6 months or year 1 of the presidency, but after that?
he was all posture and shit, playing behind the scene games etc... all his European allies hated him because eventually they saw the fraud that he was.
Oabama failed to deliver the changes he promised. Period.
That could be. Did he give more taxcuts at the expence of the ordinary guy, turn the interest knob down a bit, or was it something different coming from the outside.the unemployment rate went from over 10% to less than 5%, during that time.
I'm sure you'll be fair and vote Trump come november, cause he did better than Obama then
In my opinion Obama was a big dissapointment.
He stalled..... on purpose ?
No he had a Republican congress and senate the last 2 years who blocked his attempts most every time.
Hard to leave on a high note handicapped like that.
How many years did Republicans control Congress under Obama?
It met in Washington, D.C. from January 3, 2015, to January 3, 2017, during the final two full years of Barack Obama's presidency. The 2014 elections gave the Republicans control of the Senate (and control of both houses of Congress) for the first time since the 109th Congress.
do you imagine the US president to be a king, despot or dictator?
i don't know what you know about how the US government functions, but even with the veto proof, 60 senate votes he had in 2009, he was still dealing with democrat senators in red states who were (rightly) worried about re-election in 2010.....it's why the single payer plan (among others) wasn't passed.

he will surely be devastated by this news.
be kind and break it to him slowly.
BTW, who did start the Syria war?
I have to laugh imagining how every morning before the presidential briefing all the big guys (and the ones sitting in the 5-pointed house nearby) had been eagerly awaiting the orders of the funny Nobel Peace Prize man who to bomb and who not to... (otherwise they would not know...)
I commented in post 2422 to a post from Butters (2421) and I believe beachfront commented on mine and maybe I commented on his and you came into the picture. Complicated
I am aware that Obama had a very hostile congress for 6 years, not 8
Patience
Had to pick a kid up from school
I wouldn't postulate that republicans would cooperate with anyone who doesn't line the pockets of them and their sponsors.
They don't give a shit about the people who elect them, but since that seems to be American's singularly dumbest fucking demographic, it doesn't seem to matter.
heard this today from someone i consider to be reputable and well informed....
there are two possible outcomes to this election:
1. trump wins.
or
2. trump contests the election results citing voter fraud.
there's no way he just concedes gracefully.
i don't think it will get to the point that he would need to be physically removed, but i'd bet that he makes reference to exactly that as a possibility.
i also learned something interesting about the 6 widely acknowledged 'battleground' states (FL, NC, AZ, PA, WI, MI)......they all allow voting by mail and "no excuse" absentee ballots.
