Indeed, a consumption tax is unfair. It's a flat tax, and flat taxes are considered unjust. Advanced economies have long ago implemented a progressive tax system of some kind or another. The only problem is the lack of regulation and enforcement of it, which has allowed the wealthy to evade paying tax at all. For any tax system to work properly, especially progressive taxation systems, an extra level of regulation and enforcement, like that in Scandinavian countries, is required. Otherwise, the result is something like the US where trillions, not billions, is illegally hidden from the tax man. The IRS estimates that there is at least $32 US trillion hidden in off-shore accounts by US citizens alone. That kind of money circulating in an economy would utterly transform a country.

I'm tired of the Patriots' dominance, endless chest-beating after even an ordinary catch, the prancing around after blocking a pass, ridiculous stage-performances after a TD . . . it's all a bit too much to bear () so I just watch the 13-minute highlights and hope the Patriots, Giants, Cowboys and Texans lose . . . and the Bears (of course), Dolphins (still amazed by Marino's style), Jets (who doesn't like a perennial underdog) and Raiders win.

So, yes . . . in general baseball has lost it's attraction a bit as it has become dull . . . hockey is still way ahead

Rugby is a bitch sport compared to American football. Smaller weaker players who do not hit near as hard. If you need proof look to the fatalities annually and the rate of concussions. Rugby is a girls sport in comparison. The facts are clear.

When he was mayor, he once saved his neighbour from her burning home. Really.
