A part of me is a bit disappointed that Trump lost. The US is in desperate need of a reset and I feel that that vile and loathsome fellow was the best way to fast track such an outcome.

Now, Biden will only delay the process (not reverse or mitigate) and we will once again return to the slow decline that got rolling back in the 80's, maybe even before.

Had Trump won this year, I am most certain a Progressive candidate would have swept the election in 2024. The country would be so broken and so effed by then that a majority of folks would see no choice other than to support sane and compassionate solutions. Similar to Roosevelt in the 30's.

They are quibbling over 50 votes that may or may not have been counted, and they aren't saying why this matters.

In other words, the trumpanzees are trying to fuck up the state certification.

“State Elections Director Chris Harvey, called Coffee County’s elections director, Misty Martin. Mr. Harvey brought Deputy Director Blake Evans in on the call to discuss the situation. Ms. Martin said that the hand audit showed that they were off by one vote from the original count, but now, following the recount, Coffee County’s tally was off by 51 votes. Further, the county’s tally was showing two batch uploads of 50 ballots each.

It became apparent that Ms. Martin was unsure whether she had scanned a batch of 50 ballots twice, which would account for the 50-vote discrepancy (Ms. Martin also noted that Coffee County had comingled their advance voting and Election Day ballots, adding further disorganization to the process). Again, though she could not say for certain that she had scanned the same batch of 50 ballots twice, that seemed a likely possibility,” the press release read.

The SOS said the letter from Coffee County blamed the voting system for the 51-vote discrepancy, however, officials did not specify what mechanical issues they encountered.

Trump rewards big donors with jobs and access

Contributors who met with Trump gave about $59 million in support of his campaign and other Republicans, averaging more than $800,000 per donor.

Bought and sold cabinet and crucial posts. Something Biden is not doing. He is picking the right man or woman for the job. Not selling crucial positions to the highest bidder.

It is over for the US,
If anyone remembers during the last months of the election , I posted that "Regardless of the outcome, I am out of here , unless Biden wins with such and overwhelming majority, indicating a repudiation of trumpism, this will not be over for many many years to come....."

Though Biden won by a significant number of votes, the spread was not significant enough to signify a repudiation of trampism and I am afraid this will no be over even after Biden takes office. The republicans are not concerned about the country, their only concern is their jobs, and they will do everything possible to keep it, first by trying to steal the election, then by delegitimizing Biden's presidency in the eyes of trump supporters, and if they keep the Senate, by abstracting anything Biden does.
I hope I am wrong but it does not look like it.

It is sad and pathetic. Our political system is Brocken beyond repair , and it will take a long time to fix. If you think this is a shit shoe, unless immediate action is taken, you have not seen nothing yet.
It is vey depressing. Nobody loves this country more than I do, most of you are Americans by chance of birth, I am American by my parents choice fleeing the oppressions of the Greek junta in the early seventies. My dad jumped ship at NYC because if he returned to Greece would had be arrested, After the king and the democratic proses was overthrown there. ( a member of my family was a driver in the kings palace)
So I love this country in a way that many of you could not know. and it saddens me to no account to see the democracy in danger here also.
I am 63 years old , first year of retirement. In Nikos Kazantzakis's The Last temptation of Christ , He finds Jesus hallucinating that he siting in the front porch of his house looking at a field of golden wheat and his children playing and thing "good thing I gave up trying to save the world" ( if I remember correctly the quote).
Perhaps time for me to consider some the same advice . As soon as covid permits I am out of here.

Violated the constitution, committed treason, killed the economy, set a new record for debt, incited violence, and divided the country like no leader has ever done.

The US supreme court has unanimously rejected a baseless lawsuit filed by Texas seeking to overturn the presidential election result, dealing the biggest blow yet to Donald Trump’s assault on democracy.

In a brief, one page order, all nine justices on America’s highest court dismissed the longshot effort to throw out the vote counts in four states that the president lost: Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The decision hammers another nail in the coffin of Trump’s increasingly desperate effort to subvert the will of the people and deny Joe Biden the presidency.

The suit filed by Ken Paxton, the Texas attorney general, sought to invalidate the results in four swing states, asking the court to extend the deadline for election certification so alleged voting irregularities could be investigated.

Twitter limits users interacting with Trump's tweets about 'stolen' election

Twitter on Saturday prevented users from liking and replying to a series of tweets from President Trump in which he repeated false claims that he won the election and that the race was “stolen” from him.

In three separate tweets Saturday morning, Trump responded to the Supreme Court’s decision to throw out a lawsuit from Texas aiming to nullify President-elect Joe Biden’s win in Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

Trump cited the dissenting opinion from Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito expressing their view that the court is obligated to hear interstate disputes.

Aside from this jurisdictional disagreement, however, those two more conservative justices indicated they joined the court’s seven other members in siding against Texas.

“This is a great and disgraceful miscarriage of justice,” Trump wrote. “The people of the United States were cheated, and our Country disgraced. Never even given our day in Court!”

Au contraire. Trump has thrown the Republican party and all his naive followers under the bus.

Trump is a top flight con man. Not at all stupid. He has lied and conned his way to fame and fortune his entire life. What we are witnessing now is simply another for profit con.

Trump knew well he was toast months ago when he planted the rigged election seed. He also knew full well these nonsense law suits would never be taken serious at any level of the US justice system.

What he did know is the gullible would fall in step as they had before and help him "fanancially" to right the wrong done to him and his brainwashed followers. So, he created another in a long line of cons.

A send me your money legal funding program of which he can use near all of it as he pleases.

He is laughing all the way to the bank again and as con men are wont to do, could care less the damage he inflicts on his marks. In this case a nation.

Hopefully folks will at some point realized they have been suckered and put the bastard away.

Then, after pausing and reflecting it's found that kicking into the ones laying at the ground is much easier (when the majority is behind me...)
