The awful truth emerging from his video recordings and it doesn't concern his allegation is the quite depressing fact that many police constables these days are as inarticulate as the rest of the lower end.

Dreadful, really quite dreadful. All they had to have said is this:

" I understand from my enquires arising from your complaint that you may have subsequently assaulted a man who has sustained injuries and he has made a complaint against you as a consequence. From his account and those given by corroborating witnesses I am satisfied that an assault has taken place and I have reason to believe you were involved in that assault. I am therefore arresting you in order that I can further investigate this alleged offence ....."( proceed with caution ).

When nicking scum like Yaxley one must never be drawn into extraneous issues. Despite his bluster and attempts to control the matter with his loaded statements and accusations, one should not deviate from the course of action embarked upon i.e. the arrest and subsequent detention.

Given that an entire Beat team had attended the incident they were obviously tooled up for any argy-bargy so the arresting officer needn't have pissed about to the extent that he did preparatory to the collar.

Which is notably absent in this case despite, as I said, that it's pretty well guaranteed that there would be extensive CCTV coverage there, if only to protect the company that owned.

The police can't stop people recording in a public place, so knowing someone was recording it, probably went that extra, optional procedural mile to cover their own arses.

The arresting officer is simply required to inform the person that they are being arrested, the basis of that arrest and to caution them. He is not required to indulge in debate nor are thy expected to listen to abuse, rants or any other declamatory statements the prisoner may wish to make.

And that is it. The AO should have kept it short and sweet and carted the prick off using whatever reasonable degree of force was required.

Tommy Robinson spends the night in police cells after incident in Barrow



Mr Robinson - whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon - is among four men in custody.


The men, from outside the county, were arrested last night following a report of an assault.


Cumbria Police received a call reporting an assault on a man at Hollywood Retail Park shortly after 8.30pm.


Mr Robinson was in Barrow to film a mass show of support following allegations of an Asian grooming gang in Barrow.

Officers responded and arrested four men shortly afterwards in the Douglas Street area of Walney. Videos shared on social media showed Mr Robinson talking to police.

A man aged 43 from the West Midlands area, a man aged 47 from the North Wales area and a man aged 28 from the Bedfordshire area were arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.


Mr Robinson, 37 and from the Bedfordshire area, was arrested on suspicion of assault and a public order offence.


All remain in police custody this morning.


There were a number of people in the area at the time and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or the moments immediately before or after.
