But not in solitary confinement. It appears conjugal rights and accompanying children are the norm. I am presuming the person with the blue top is female and the small person in the front is a child, not a "person of limited height beyond their ability to modify (POLHBTATM)".

As alleged by the Human Rights Watch site. Conveniently ameristan is no longer a member of the organisation, but it continues to hold others to the HRW standards.

^ But still with no reason except that they're Uighar.
Internment camp is not "prison" in this context.

Imagine, the phenomenal concept of "conjugal visits" within the penitentiary-system of the 21st. Century, "We, The People...etc",...First World, most technologically advanced and "greatest" country in the world....

Any citizen of a nation,...with a "kidnapping/incarceration" recent history, akin to that of GITMO, should really button it!...

And btw, playing games w/ words,..eh? Fyi...an Internment "camp",...is a prison, in any context. Sigh!

Indeed(s) ^. Unknown to the "average" home-grown U.S. citizen, both the U.S.A, and U.K., are viewed as being quite "schizophrenic" societies, even by European standards. Consider the "roots" pathological source. Ok?...

So all you've really proven is that they *are* arresting women and children as well. And killing some of them according to one escapee who lost her own child.

And pray tell when America ever was a "member" of an organisation that is strictly Non-Governmental?

Putin: My spy chiefs know nothing about alleged agent Butina in U.S

MOSCOW (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday it was unclear to him why a Russian woman, Maria Butina, had been detained in the United States and accused of being a Russian agent because his intelligence chiefs had told him they knew nothing about her.

Butina is suspected of trying to infiltrate the National Rifle Association and influence U.S. policy towards Russia and is expected to plead guilty this week following a deal between her lawyers and U.S. prosecutors, according to court filings on Monday.

“...she risks 15 years in jail. For what?” asked Putin. “...I asked all the heads of our intelligence services what is going on. Nobody knows anything about her.”

    From NBC

Butina, 30, will plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to violate the law governing foreign agents operating in the United States, a felony that carries a five-year prison term. The estimated sentencing guideline range is from zero to six months in prison. As a noncitizen, she would face deportation after serving any prison sentence.

My bet is she gave everyone up just like Flynn. Would be hard to believe she would be deported back to Russia now.

    You better plead guilty, or...
(where this well-proven investigation technique were used some 300years ago?)

You're right. If she sang like a little birdie to avoid jail time, going back would be an invitation for a cup of Putin's 'special tea'.

Thought this an interesting read from The Daily Beast.

Boyfriend’s Email: Butina ‘Manipulated’ Russian Spy Agency for NRA Trip

According to her boyfriend, Russian agent Maria Butina had major sway with the FSB officers “assigned” to her.

Russian agent Butina sentenced to 18 months

A federal judge on Friday ordered Russian agent Maria Butina to serve 18 months in prison, the term demanded by federal prosecutors in the case.

Butina, who was arrested in 2018, had pleaded guilty to acting as an unregistered foreign agent on behalf of the Russian government. She will get credit for nine months she has already served in prison.

Butina, dressed in a green prison uniform and wearing her long red hair down, had no visible reaction as she received her sentence.

Butina's attorneys, pointing to her having been incarcerated for roughly nine months, asked that she be sentenced to no additional prison time and instead be immediately deported back to Russia.

District Judge Tanya Chutkan said during the hearing that there was "no doubt" that the 30-year-old Russian national was kind and hardworking, and that Butina had "suffered greatly" due to the high-profile nature of the case.

But she rejected the argument put forward by Butina's attorneys that the woman was not working on behalf of the Russian government, but was rather attempting to help rehabilitate relations between the U.S. and Moscow.

US prison sentence for Butina a ‘travesty of justice’ – Putin

The US government knows that Russian gun activist Maria Butina isn’t guilty of a crime, but sentenced her to prison anyway to avoid embarrassment, Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed.
“[The US] is just trying to save face,” Putin said while speaking at the 2nd Belt & Road Forum in Beijing on Saturday.

“There’s nothing they can charge [Butina] with, so to avoid looking ridiculous, they decided to slap her with 18 months in prison.”

The Russian president described Butina’s 18-month prison sentence as “a travesty of justice.”

The Russian gun activist arrived in the US in 2016 on a student visa. As part of her political activities, she made contacts within the National Rifle Association (NRA). She was arrested in July 2018 and charged with failing to register as an agent of the Russian government – what essentially amounts to working as an unregistered lobbyist.

Tellingly, her case was never part of Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump administration and the Kremlin. However, the media still had a field day with her arrest, even wrongfully reporting that Butina traded sex for political favors.

Following months of what the Russian Foreign Ministry described as "borderline torture" in jail, she pleaded guilty to the charge in December.

On Thursday she was sentenced to 18 months in prison, of which she has already served nine.
