Went to the clinic(in the US) last year with an infection on my foot, just wanted to get an antibiotic prescription. Doctor wrote a prescription for a round of antibiotics and another for Vicodin with 1 refill. I didn't mention anything about pain or asked for anything for it.
It's all insurance and drug company fueled. No doubt she's getting some free gifts from the pharmacy rep if she pushes enough of the stuff.

It may be due to my own age but these addicts seem really young. IMHO any drugs used, even for a lifetime, are a better path than putting users in constant danger of overdose or other pitfalls of illicit opioid use.
