That they would do their best to find compromise? Yes, pretty predictable.

Also predictable - BoJo and his band acting all high and mighty, shifting blame on a deal they deemed acceptable months ago, and making hollow threats.

^ Nope, setting their regs at an unworkable level and then dialling them down and making out it is a concession, predictable.

Amazing to see members still bleating about Brexit.

The UK is booming, and continues to raise the bar.

The EU has crumbled regarding Northern Ireland, The French and Germans at each others throats, The Poles are next on the list.

Newcastle sold to the Arabs, and no doubt opens the door to the GCC Trade deal.

Pity the bleaters don't see the progress being made in the UK.

Well, come 26 when all EU fishing could be halted, not as if we'd lose anything. Then the EU are going to have to find somewhere to catch or buy their fish eh Troy. After all the numbers are immaterial, that's what you lot keep saying

IMO the UK waters could do with some time recovering from EU Cvnts dragging the bottom clean of life

^ Remainers have always bleated about what a big deal was made of the Fishing angle in Brexit, you remember that Syb. Frankly its always been insignificant, but you can see how important it is to the EU with their vocal fishermen. Just wait as we approach 26 and see how much of an insignificant issue it becomes as the EU fights to keep quotas.

I remember it being a fact that the fishing aspect of BREXIT was not the most calamitous aspect of the whole 'foot-shooting' exercise, yes Numpty.

Though obviously it is for some people and their communities.

Not everything that matters politically only matters because of numbers, though.

Love em, they do realise they are not dealing with their own Govt

Brexit news - live: French fleet to block ports amid fishing dispute as EU seeks to break protocol impasse

Post-Brexit deal: UK escalates dispute with EU over N. Ireland protocol

French fishermen have threatened to block the flow of Christmas goods to Britain from Friday amid a dispute on post-Brexit fishing rights.

The move comes after dozens of French vessels were told last month that they would not be given licences to fish off the coast of Jersey. The EU believes this decision goes against the Brexit deal it signed with the UK.

In response to the development, fishermen have said they could block outward-bound cargo at the ports of Calais and Dunkirk as well as at the Channel Tunnel.

“We are waiting until Friday, and then we’ll start to organise ourselves to attack,” fisherman Laurent Merlin said.

Meanwhile, Brussels has offered to scrap 80 per cent of checks on goods entering Northern Ireland in a bid to solve the Brexit impasse. João Vale de Almeida, the EU’s ambassador to the UK, called the concession “unprecedented”.

Although London has said it will look “seriously and constructively” at the bloc’s package, one likely sticking point is minister Lord Frost’s demand that the European Court of Justice (ECJ)’s jurisdiction be removed from the Brexit deal.

The UK have been more than reasonable with the French fishermen, probably too reasonable .

All they had to do was show proof of their previous fishing history.

I've got an inkling the vessels that were refused have been up to no good, fishing in areas were they shouldn't....

A spokesman for the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) said the UK's approach "has been reasonable and fully in line with our commitments in the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA)".

The spokesman said that to get a licence for fishing in the UK territorial sea, which is between six and 12 nautical miles from the coast, EU vessels must provide evidence of a track record of working there.

It comes as Jersey said it had granted 64 licences out of 170 applications from French boats.

A further 31 boats have been given temporary licences to give them more time to show they have a track record of fishing in Jersey's waters, in line with the UK's post-Brexit trade deal with the EU.

The remaining 75 boats are being given 30 days' notice, after which they will no longer be allowed access to the island's waters.

Jersey became a flashpoint for tensions over fishing rights in May, when two Royal Navy ships were sent to patrol the area after French fishermen staged a protest outside the port of St Helier.

The fishermen complained about being prevented from operating in British waters because of difficulties in obtaining licences.

Under an agreement with the EU, French boat operators must show a history of fishing in the area to receive a licence for Jersey's waters.
    Shalom

Yes but the French and EU seem to think they can override a sovereign nations rules, well that is until you try pulling the same stunt on the EU - they are globally starting to be seen as a joke protection racket, their world is only going to get smaller and they only have themselves to blame.
