The withdrawal agreement, signed last year, is independent of the trade agreement. It appears Boris and his motley crew are trying to link them with this new Bill. The idea is utterly flawed and just makes Boris look more like a Trumptard...

Let's see if the EU raise the stakes and call off the talks.

They wont. When did you ever see them make a hard decision? Besides they'll need the withdrawal money from Britain more than ever now. They will want to look like they were the reasonable negotiators and it was all big bad Britains' fault. The E.U. somehow think its perfectly reasonable to continue to take the majority of the catch from British territorial waters. The Baltic catch is dwindling making the Atlantic waters that much more important to fish supply. Please remind me of any FTA that insists in taking the balk of the fish from another countries territorial waters as a pre condition to any FTA agreement. That wouldn't fly in Australia. We are forever catching illegal Indonesian fisherman and confiscating their boats. They may have been doing it for hundreds of years when people just took what they wanted but that doesn't fly in the face of a countries rights in their economic zone in these times.

^ What you are doing in Australia is completely irrelevant for European fishing right talks.
You obviously don't know the background of the complex issue of fishing in British waters so start reading here:

The tories are falling apart. Thatcher, Major, May, Cameron...all got the boot because of botching things with the EU. Now Johnson looks set to join them. The next US government is already saying they won't touch him with a bargepole. Michael Howard 'outraged', May and Major have already expressed their dismay.

This inept tory shower might not make it to the end of the year.

Your posts mostly suggest you're either trolling or uninformed, or both.

Finally there's the 'too stupid to process the information' option.

Not much incentive to establish which.

BoJo's goverment is reneging on an agreement and breaking international law, as conceded by his own Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

    There.

I just had time to bother, for once.

There is little point in discussing any of these latest developments with Brexit morons. They are quite simply too stupid.

The NI/IRE/UK/GFA protocols were incorporated into the WA and introduced into joint EU and UK law as an independent affirmation preserving the status quo insofar as trade is concerned given that the erection of fiscal barriers between the contiguous border would have effectively destroyed the GFA - they were not agreed on the basis of some future outcome.

The internal trade bill currently proposed is seeking to undermine the WA application through the use of UK ministerial intervention altering the movement of goods and services between the province and the mainland, a development that would render the WA as it relates to NI redundant. This is of course in breach of th law agreed by Ireland, the EU and of course the nationalist majority resident in NI.

If it proceeds and becomes law then there will be several consequences: the use of EU economic sanctions against the UK, a de facto border will be erected in NI/IRE and as a consequence the GFA will be abandoned and the nationalists will re-commence their struggle for unification, and the US Congress will block all future trade negotiated deals with the UK.

But, as an aside, it may come as a surprise to some here that the EU has no remit in Atlantic fishing. However, over 72% of all fish caught by British vessels is sold to the EU market. If that catch is subjected to tariffs of 30%, or a boycott, by the EU then the British fishing industry will collapse in a month.

Brexit: Trade talks hang in balance as UK rejects EU ultimatum

Brexit: Trade talks hang in balance as UK rejects EU ultimatum - BBC News

Talks over a trade deal with the EU are hanging in the balance amid a stand-off over the UK's plans to override part of the Brexit withdrawal agreement.

The EU has warned the UK it could face legal action if it does not ditch controversial elements of the Internal Market Bill by the end of the month.

Concerned Conservative MPs have launched a bid to amend the new law.

Boris Johnson will host a virtual meeting with MPs later on Friday to discuss the controversial bill.

The PM's official spokesman said Mr Johnson would reiterate his commitment to working on the implementation of the withdrawal agreement with the EU.

But he will also say, if that work fails, "as a responsible government, we must provide a safety net that removes any ambiguity".

Meanwhile, informal trade talks between the two sides are due to resume on Monday amid "significant" differences.

No 10 said this week's discussions had been "relatively more constructive than you might expect", but added: "Ultimately, progress will be determined by whether we get more realism from them on the key areas of divergence."

The next official round of talks - the ninth since March - will begin in Brussels on 28 September.

Mr Johnson's proposed Internal Market Bill, which will be formally debated by MPs in the House of Commons for the first time on Monday, addresses the Northern Ireland Protocol - an element of the Brexit withdrawal agreement designed to prevent a hard border returning to the island of Ireland.

The new law would give UK ministers powers to modify or "disapply" rules relating to the movement of goods that will come into force from 1 January, if the UK and EU are unable to strike a trade deal.

The PM's spokesman said it would also "ensure the government can always deliver on its commitments to the people of Northern Ireland".

The publication of the bill prompted emergency talks on Thursday, in which the EU said the planned changes must be scrapped or risk jeopardising the UK-EU trade talks.

But the government defied the EU's demand, insisting it would proceed as planned with the legislation it says is necessary to protect the integrity of the UK and the peace process in Northern Ireland.

Time and trust are running out

When it comes to Brexit, all negotiations are inter-linked: EU-UK trade talks, the process to implement their divorce deal, negotiations on fishing rights and Brussels' deliberation on UK financial service.

What happens in one area very much affects progress in the others. You cannot separate them entirely.

Which is why this week, as the war of words and wills between Brussels and Downing Street raged over the government's threat to throw a grenade at key parts of the divorce deal, everyone's thoughts turned immediately to the trade talks between the two sides.

Could they survive? In fact, they limp on.

Despite bitter arguments over legislation and a huge list of outstanding issues still to be ironed out in bilateral trade talks; despite time and trust running out on both sides; neither the EU nor the UK seem to want to be the first ones to walk out the door.

And this deal is no fucking different to the deal it had under the EU umbrella negotiations signed up last year.

Plus, if BoJo the Clown fucks the EU negotiations up then Nissan/Toyota and Airbus are out the door.

I actually do. Some interesting reading maybe but some half truths. Iceland "won" the cod wars by threatening to pull out of Nato. It obviously had no hope of winning any other way. Although a military minnow whose leaving meant little militarily, It was strategically important and the look of disunity in Nato while still in the middle of the cold war, which caused the UK to back down. Oh and I didn't need to google I have read extensively on fishing rights going back to royal charters. Britan certainly made mistakes but now they have a chance to rectify them. I dont think anyone is suggesting the E.U. will be banned from fishing in British waters but their catch will no doubt be limited and subject to British law which I would've thought would be certainly reasonable. The remainer lobby seems to be fixated on hoping Britain is economically weakened by Brexit especially the likes of Rory O'Retard and Troy as if to justify their remainer position. I happen to be a believer that the EU project has outgrown itself by adding too many countries, turning it into a bloated whale. They are unable to even reign in the likes of hungary and Poland. They spend money like a drunken sailor. Look no further than the monthly move to Strasbourg as an obscene waste of money embedded in the EU charter. They spend about 40% 0f the EU budget on farms many of which are not sustainable without subsidies costing Taxpayers millions. Then there were the (powdered) milk mountains, which some of was then dumped in west africa, driving down the price for local farmers there. The list is endless. The E.U. then tells Britain they want a "level playing field" in trade.

I ask a perfectly reasonable question. You go off on an anti Boris rant and fail to answer the question again.

Then you pretend to justify your non answer, with more ranting. Ffs get a grip man. Your retorts are slavishly neurotic.

It wasn't a perfectly reasonable question.

It was a question framed in a farcically contrived manner, which as usual did not deserve an answer.

That's twice now that I've made the effort to explain what a one-eyed idiot you're being, whilst realising that it's of course futile because you're a one-eyed idiot.

In fairness, that makes you twice as perceptive as jabir.

You do realise that the Withdrawal Agreement was ratified by the UK and therefore not a one-sided law as you suggest...

Breach of such an agreement is against International law not EU law.

Wars have been started over less.

in this case end of talks if it goes through and a measured additional response from the EU that will have economic implications.

Bo-Jo is digging the hole deeper instead of trying to clamber out. The EU have the moral high ground on this one.

Waiting for the whoooosh crap from you.
