^So who is being delusional now?

    Claim

The UK is the EU's single largest export market.

    Conclusion

That's right for the goods market. If you treated the UK as if it were out of the EU it would have made up 16% of the EU's goods exports in 2014. That's just ahead of the United States.

I'm sure the Americans will be pleased to know that, to the EU, they are even less than a distraction. Sounds like the sort of statement Trump would tweet.

the UK does not belong to the EU project, and joining in 1973 was an heresy and a mistake, a mistake that was fixed by Boris, and that's all that matters

Interpreting delusional conclusions from extrapolated data skewed to conform with stupid propaganda is of course a perennial feature of the Brexit rhetoric churned out with dreary regularity and your vacuous offerings are no different.

The thing is my dear boy, the EU's trade with Britain equates to a mere 3% of its combined GDP, vice versa Britain's trade with the EU represents 13% of GDP. But that does not begin to tell the whole story. Britain's manufacturing contribution to GDP is 10%, of which 49% is exported to the EU.

3 Million trucks travel annually to the EU from Dover alone.

The thing is, the average Brexit munter and lower class Brit simply has no idea what they have done and are quite ignorant of these facts.

Too stupid to be afraid but there it is.

The CBI and hundreds of SMEs are aware and are rightly afraid for the future as indeed is the entire fishing industry doomed to bankruptcy if the Tory Orcs turn them into bargaining chips.

^ No one cares any longer. Brexit is happening and everyone has to live with that fact. Whether it is good or bad for the UK is irrelevant. Whether it is economically viable is irrelevant. Whether a good trade deal with the EU by Dec 2020 is achieved is irrelevant. People have voted to leave and that is what will happen. Good or bad is irrelevant. So be it.

The labour laws in Europe are over restrictive and are counter productive when it comes to lead time and price.. The labour laws in the UK favour cheap as possible and forget the quality. Neither is to my taste.

Thank goodness I am only working for extra pocket money in order to buy luxuries.

Things have to change on both sides. There needs to be realignment. Folding arms and blaming the other side won't work.

A common enemy is the usual way out, with a bit of backslapping as a follow up. Now who and where can they find a common enemy....

I've no idea what you mean by the "labour laws in UK favour cheap...."

The working time practices, holiday entitlement, discrimination laws, etc are all analogous throughout the EU member states.

The UK has a different approach to taxation and indirectly subsidises low wages through its working tax credit regime. This favour employers who pay less overall and in lower NI Contributions, a phenomenon that has also precipitated the British trend of developing part time/self employed working practises which has seen numbers rise to a record 15 millions.

I think the right wing Tory Nazi strategy, as yet unpublicised, is to roll back workers' rights to an era more conducive to exploitation. Brexit is much more than simple racist bigotry and stupidity, it is about re-affirming the vested interests of the tax evading carpetbaggers who wish to protect their offshored funds. The new immigration regime will guarantee an influx of contract labour from the third world and by rolling back worker's protection for indigenous employees the chap reservoir of labour just got bigger.

This is the brave new world of Goebbels Cummings and his glove puppet BoJo the Clown and the real kicker is that the Northern dross voted for it, the folk most likely to get screwed.

Meanwhile, in Brussels......

A battle erupted yesterday as EU leaders fought over which country should pay the lion’s share of a shortfall left in Brussels finances by Brexit.

Britain’s departure has left a €75 billion hole in the financing of the EU’s 2021-2027 spending programme, causing the most acrimonious budget negotiations since Margaret Thatcher secured a British rebate in 1984.

To fill the Brexit gap and fund new EU projects, Germany is facing extra net payments that are more than six times the extra that France will pay. The Netherlands will pay at least 70 per cent more than France in net contributions despite the Dutch economy being a third of France’s in terms of GDP.

France is blocking rebates or cuts and is portraying those who want to reduce their payments as anti-European. “There is no compromise if we’re compromising European ambitions,” President Macron said at a Brussels summit yesterday. “It’s unacceptable to think that because the UK is no longer part of the EU, we need to give up on our ambitions.”

Sebastian Kurz, the chancellor of Austria, whose country faces a doubling of its net EU payments told the French leader that “our contribution must not grow endlessly”.

Mr Kurz said: “We represent the interests of our taxpayers here. One is not anti European if you want to save money.”

Under figures seen by The Times, Germany faces an increase to its EU contributions of €10 billion a year to €26 billion. The Netherlands’ net payments rise by up to about €3.5 billion to €8 billion. Austria’s contribution doubles to €2 billion. France’s net payment will rise by about €1.5 billion to about €10.5 billion.

The Netherlands, the EU’s biggest exporter of agricultural products, gets €1 billon a year in EU farming subsidies. France gets more than €10 billion.

A “frugal four” group of countries — Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden — with tacit German support, want a permanent system of rebates and for the EU budget to be capped at 1 per cent of gross national income.

Ambassadors compared the summit to one at the French palace of Fontainebleau 36 years ago when Mrs Thatcher won a rebate. One diplomat said: “Brexit has not ended the rebate debate. The UK might have gone but there are at least four Thatchers in the EU now.”

Bit suspicious of what Macron refers to as European ambitions...anyone care to be blunt, for the demented Remoaners that believe it must be a bright and harmonious future for all because they read it on the internet?

In the English language we have a saying. “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing”.

You have so little, you must be incredibly dangerous.

Knowledge without understanding is pointless, as you prove consistently, with every post you make.

Quite bizarre how Brexit loons witter on about the EU's wealth in neurotic, febrile terms and yet are quite sanguine about the UK's parlous finances viz worst productivity rate in EU, the fifth worst debt to GDP ratio out of all 28 EU countries, a widening current account deficit, a diminishing manufacturing sector languishing at 9-10% of GDP, a huge personai unsecured indebtedness which features one of the highest rates in the West, around an average of 32% of household income, a currency that has devalued by 20% since Brexit and a forecasted reduction in annual GDP of around £60 billions over the next decade.

And it rains a lot, public transport costs are among the highest in the world and the NHS teeters on collapse for want of funding amid a crime rate that has accelerated after the draconian cuts to policing involving the loss of 20,000 police posts imposed by May.

Real wages are still at the same values prevalent in 2010 and taxes are due to be increased across the board in order to stem the deterioration in the country's infrastructure of education, transport and security ( council taxes rising over the rate of inflation are the first salvo ).

Simply to return to the standards that prevailed in 2010 would involve an immediate investment of over £160 billions.

And how is the UK to prepare itself for this mammoth task of regeneration? Yep, it's going to pay for a new railway set costing £120 billions and will withdraw from an economic association that generated over £260 billions worth of annual trade.

And the Brexit numpties here are preaching EU armageddon because of a gap in funding of £10 billion in an annual budget of £150 billions???

No wonder they prefer their daft propaganda.

I think Brexiteers know they are facing shit, and now want to hope for a better world that will never exist

basically, they are trying to escape responsibilities for their choice and escaping the new reality

only hope is the only thing they have left,

Diversion, diversion. For the Remainers (ie those actually residing, or intending to reside, in the EU) surely you should be bothered about what the boys in Brussels are gonna do, faced with a massive funding shortfall. I think the days of just getting kindly Uncle Hans to cough up are over. I imagine negotiations could get quite heated.

For the Bremoaners, you're in the same boat as the Brexiters really. You would want negotiations to go as well as possible, and there to be a minimum of disruption to vital trade links to and from the EU. I imagine negotiations could also get quite heated.

For the Ukippers, well lets just wait for reality to set in. I doubt you'll be happy for long, but at least you were on the winning side- and your impassioned vote was vital in securing Brexit.

tbh, that whole Brexit REF1 was a big manipulation scam, and what I find more interesting and amazing is why the UK Parliament went along with it when it didn't need to. Likewise, why did REMOANERS like Maybot went along with it and started the whole fooking process completely unprepared.

I think the mentality that led such a mass political suicide is much more interesting than Brexit itself, it's a glimpse of the UK mentality, a snapshot of the self destructive nature of the UK political elite.

How did it come to be like this? is it the sun gravity or the disposition of the Jupiter moons that led your leaders and their followers to act completely lunatic with an unnecessary process?
