MPs were mislead to think they could strike a deal while leaving, and the PM and her government were capable of achieving that
now that they realize their mistakes, they changed their minds and want to revoke the whole thing instead

^ As I said, that was a formality. The Withdrawal Act was not so convincing. A withdrawal agreement was always being pushed by the Maybot as a given. Withdrawal with no agreement is going to take a GE or yet another twist...of which there have been plenty.
The majority of MPs never wanted Brexit and that has been the issue since day 1. So they came up with a deal that was leaving in name only thinking the people would easily be conned into accepting it. They weren't. Anyway why does a trading block need its own army, parliament and anthem?
^^ indeed, leaving sans deal was never the main motive to invoke A50, the mistake was to think it was possible
if Doris was serious about leaving sans deal, she would have done so on March 29th
when MPs realize nothing was coming out of Brexit, they put the whole thing on reverse mode and I think at this stage everyone will be happy with REVOKE
except Boris of course
it's not a trading bloc anymore, in case you haven't noticed, it's a full integration process for a new federal state. I thought that was pretty clear. Can it be achieve? don't think so. The whole thing has been stalled since the advent of Eastern shithholes integration
TBH, nobody knew really what Brexit meant. Can you really claim Brexit meant sans deal or a complete separation of strategic agreements between the EU and the UK?
what has become clear now is that Brexit is not feasible, short of a self-inflicted FULL EMBARGO
Brexit was always going to be a political exit, aka in name only
did she had any choice? her party was full of Brexit nutters, and so was the opposition. Her own government staff had a few of them. She had to be secretive and fast, otherwise they would have sabotaged the whole thing.
It was an impossible mission since day 1, the mistake was to believe and make people believe it was achievable, hence everyone was misled
Boris could put the Maydeal back to parliament in October. A last chance of staying in power without having to kneel before the devil...Farage.
Trying to rake over history gets you nowhere. May has gone. Her deal has been rejected 3 times.
Boris wants a deal, but the remain thugs have tried to stop any kind of deal. He is actually serious about leaving.
They don't actually know what they do want, only that they think leaving without a deal is bad.
One of two things will happen.
1. The UK will leave without a deal and the EU will be forced to negotiate a deal after UK has left, just to continue selling EU goods to the UK.
2. The EU will cut a deal at the last minute, just to say they prevented UK leaving without a deal, so the EU can continue selling their goods to UK.
Anything else is lost forever. The UK parliament cannot force Boris to ask for, or accept any extension. That would be illegal, because the executive branch of government cannot be obliged to accept any foreign treaty. It is perfectly legal for the PM to refuse to obey the remain bill, because he would be going against the constitution, which forbids him to do so.
No legal machinery exists that will allow a judge to disobey the constitution, and order the PM to comply. A judge can, if he feels justified, create a legal precedent for anything except the constitution.
The PM might want to negotiate with the EU, or maybe not. It doesn't matter because he has drawn a legal line in the sand. He can dictate terms to the EU, or he can walk away.
On 31 October, you will know.
In the meantime, his detractors have two options. A vote of no confidence. If he wins, he continues with his new government. If he loses, he waits until 31 October and walks away with his pledge intact, and the EU in disarray.
If two thirds of the commons vote for GE, the conservatives would win it in a landslide because all other parties will have no mandate to sell to the country.
It's over already. Get used to it.
Remain thugs
Wow...switch still thinks BoJo holds the best cards and the EU are trembling.
Delusional.
Must be term time, Reachy and Teachy back as a tag team, wonderful, insightful and caninetastic.
and here we go for another round
Brexit: MPs willing to go to court to enforce delay
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-49618242
MPs, including Tories expelled from the party, are preparing legal action in case the PM refuses to seek a delay to Brexit.
A bill requiring Boris Johnson to ask for an extension to the UK's departure date to avoid a no-deal Brexit on 31 October is set to gain royal assent.
But the PM has said he would "rather be dead in a ditch" than ask for a delay.
Legal experts have warned the prime minister could go to prison if he refuses to comply with the new law.
Now MPs have lined up a legal team and are willing to go to court to enforce the law, if necessary.
The cross-party bill - which requires the prime minister to extend the exit deadline until January unless Parliament agrees a deal with the EU by 19 October - was passed on Friday.
Although the government has said it will abide by the law, Mr Johnson described it as obliging him "in theory" to write to Brussels asking for a "pointless delay".
Downing Street said the British public had been clear that they wanted Brexit done.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn told BBC News the party was not taking legal action over the legislation, but said it was "aware of the actions that are being discussed and prepared for".
He added that Labour would allow a general election "when we are clear that there will be an end to the danger of no-deal on 31 October".
"We need a clear statement from the prime minister that he is going to abide by that act of Parliament," Mr Corbyn said.
looks like the yellow vests in England are on the wrong side of the fence
So BoJo now possibly faces a choice...
1) Ask for an extension.
2) Resign
3) Go to jail.
And Switch has concluded he has the EU right where he wants them.
so much winning in a week,
MEGA !!!
Pretty hard to run a government and pass any legislation with a -40 minority. Its pathetic why Corbyn is stalling on a GE after been calling for one every week. Parliament is getting prorogued next week, no way Boris is going to get his Queens speech through parliament when it returns which in normal times would trigger an automatic GE.
Like or hate Boris he had a valid point as in what the fuck is the point of asking for a 3 month extension, what is going to be achieved in the next 3 months that couldn't have been done in last 3 years.
That old UKIP MEP him of the bongo bongo land comments although a highly intelligent man if you read his work on banking, magic of banking I believe his book was called and his famous speech in the EU parliament where he explained banking to the masses, said after the referendum they would never let us leave and i fear he may be right. Godfrey Bloom.
More danger of the PM going to jail if he does ask for an extension. He cannot be forced to comply because he is required to comply with a position that is illegal under the constitution.
I just explained why and you not only ignore the fact, but post a moronic QED reply. I also explained why the remain thugs going to court is futile. Every legal challenge has failed failed so far and this threat is no exception. No judge will ever challenge the constitution.
Do you know what QED stands for numb nuts?
We Yanks are grateful for this world class BREXIT cockup which has taken the spotlight off the political insanity in the US. Kindly provided by the good folks of the UK and their leaders. God save the Queen.
Keep up the good work!
I thought you were Canadian but regardless this Brexit shitshow will not end well and that will be the sole responsibility of the politicians who refused to honour the vote. Brexit isnt going to go away, that genie is out the bottle and impossible to put it back in and seal the bottle. We will end up with something worse than Trump if Brexit isnt delivered. Either an extreme left wing or right wing government there is no centre ground at the moment in UK politics, next GE will be decided solely on Brexit as nothing else matters sad as at is. Education, health, defence etc. Is all irrelevant at the moment UK politics is all about one issue.
The car crash continues with yet another former Brexiteered rat having a crisis of conscience and quitting the Ebola Party of Dommo Cummings and his stooge clown BoJo.
The forthcoming Brexit election mantra seems to be "Parliament or the People". The metamorphosis of a system previously championed by a thousand years of developing parliamentary democracy into one signified by the howling mob led by demagogues is the future it seems if the ERG fanatics have their way. Brexit has finally achieved what I have said would happen for over two years now, the end of our parliamentary system with the demise of the Tory party as our new government goose steps its way down the boulevards of fascist dogmatism ignoring the rule of law.
Britain is now perilously near to becoming a chickenhead, tinpot, banana republic elected by Brexit coons.
If BoJo splits our democracy apart with his wild mad recklessness there will be blood on the streets for sure. NI nationalism will target him and Dommer for an early body bag for sure. You start choosing which laws to abide by and you end up with nothing.
