nice try, but it doesn't work that way. In the last vote for the extension, Doris vote was out and she had to leave the room during the vote. But it's an interesting proposition, technically the UK could ask to vote on their own extension. Not sure the EU27 would go for it though, and they make the rules.

Doris had to leave the room as her vote was already taken for granted as of course she was going to vote for or agree whatever the EU offered. The 27 came up with the 6 month extension and Doris agreed making 28.

again you don't know how it works over there, she asked for 2 weeks and she got 6 months because the actual vote debated for 6 months AFTER she left the room. She had no idea of the extension date when she left.

technically the PM could lodge a case to the ECJ for failing to respect a vote but don't think it would actually work

anyway the EU27 have a lot of room to do things the way they want it, hence why you will REMAIN at the end, if FULL EMBARGO is not an option for Boris

If Boris wanted to up the game, he could go to the ECJ right now and contest Doris vote or EU27 vote for the last extension saying it was illegal, since she voted blindly on an extension she didn't know the conditions, and she had every right to be in the room

I bet this could be debatable in a court

so technically, you could go illegal hard Brexit today

If he's forced to request an extension then he has no option but to vote for it you oaf. Failing to do so would be a failure to honour the request.

Boris threatening to remove MPs from the party list if they don't vote for him? A little naughty after failing to toe the line himself several times in this never ending Brexit saga.

I hear Gove is talking bollocks again. Nothing unusual there.

Meanwhile the EU can't budge on the agreement from their side...and why should they. The UK has been in self destruct mode for 3 years now.

You silly clot, parliament can only force him to ask for an extension, it cant force him to vote for it or accept it.

Any prime minister would remove or expel MPs from their party if they vote against him in a no confidence motion or at very least have the whip withdrawn from if they vote against government policy on a 3 line whip and if you have the whip withdrawn you cant stand for the party in a GE.

Gove was very clear earlier, I know it's not what sad little remoaners want to hear but tough.

It's very strange how the remoaners are just making up their own 'reality' as they go along...

The total absurdity of parliament trying to overthrow a referendum result is now completely accepted by the remoaners. The total absurdity of HoP remoaners (and others such as Blair and Cambell) lying endlessly that they just want a second vote or a better deal is now accepted by remoaners even though know that the sole purpose is revoke - the LibDem leader has even repeated that she would not accept a second referendum result unless it was revoke/remain... The total absurdity of the house speaker being endlessly political is completely accepted by the remoaners. The absurd made up extremist discourse such as "cliff edge" and "No Deal" is now completely accepted as true by the remoaners.

It's an interesting study on people, how they are able to suspend reality and passionately believe absurd ideas.

    It's actually very simply:

    - Britain voted to leave.
    - May & the EU tried to sabotage us leaving with an absurd process of withdrawal agreement and payment schedule without any actual terms agreed for the UK, but both sides also have complete plans in place for Brexit to happen in an orderly manner then for sector by sector deals to be put in place.
    - a referendum is not parliamentary democracy, it's direct democracy.
    - Nobody knows what will happen, but we leave and life goes on, businesses adapt and our current EU partners such as Ireland, Germany and Holland continue to sell us farm products, cars and want to fish in our waters. Business is business...
    Cycling should be banned!!!

    New week, new fun

Brexit: 'Get ready' advertising campaign launches
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-49545743

An information campaign urging the public to "get ready for Brexit" has been launched by the government.

The campaign began on Sunday with the launch of a website, gov.uk/brexit.

Billboards and social media adverts will appear in the coming days and TV adverts will air later this month.

Michael Gove, who is in charge of no-deal plans, said the adverts encourage "shared responsibility" for preparing to leave the EU on 31 October.

It has been reported that the campaign could cost as much as £100m as ministers seek to inform people what they might need to do, if anything, ahead of the deadline.

Benedict Pringle, author of the politicaladvertising.co.uk blog, said that, if true, the £100m budget would be roughly double what The National Lottery spends on advertising each year.

"So if you think about how often you see a lottery advert and double it, that's how much we could be seeing the campaign over the next two months," he told the BBC.

"At football grounds, in advert breaks for Coronation Street and The Great British Bake Off, this is where you'll get the biggest reach with the public."

Corbyn is never likely to be in a position to do it. Remember the coalition of remainers refused to accept that it would be his right as opposition leader, to lead any temporary government. Corbyn has serious problems believing that.

All that is required now is for someone to sit on Bercow's head during the next session of parliament. JRM will hit Bercow right beyween the eyes and Bercow won't even see it coming.

the new level of mindfuck rumors revealed by Buriram seems to be true after all

    Only in the UK

Brexit: No 10 'considering' election amid no-deal battle with MPs
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-49549960

Boris Johnson is considering seeking an early general election if MPs seeking to block a no-deal Brexit defeat the government this week.

The BBC understands "live discussions" are going on in No 10 about asking Parliament to approve a snap poll.

Political editor Laura Kuenssberg said it could happen as soon as Wednesday but no final decision had been taken.

Tory ex-ministers are joining forces with Labour to stop the UK leaving the EU on 31 October without a deal.

Amid mounting speculation about an election, Mr Johnson is due to hold an unscheduled cabinet meeting at 17.00 BST on Monday and will also speak to Conservative MPs.

The prime minister has said the UK must leave the EU on 31 October, with or without a deal, prompting a number of MPs to unite to try to prevent the UK leaving without an agreement.

They are expected to put forward legislation on Tuesday to stop no deal under "SO24" or Standing Order 24 - the rule allowing MPs to ask for a debate on a "specific and important matter that should have urgent consideration".

looks like propagation backfired and could cost a few seats to the Tories for the next GE, better to pre-empt now with a new GE before the Propagation damage becomes uncontrollable once it actually happens !!!

good move Boris, but won't save you from EXTENSION or REMAIN

Right, so here's the surest sign yet that a snap election is about to be called.

I hope the mutt is good at dodging flying plates, etc.

A momentary distraction from what is likely to be a hugely turbulent week in politics has arrived at Downing Street, in the form of a 15-week-old puppy.

The Jack Russell cross, which has been named Dilyn, was chauffeured into the prime minister’s residence in a different kind of red box on Monday morning.

The dog has been adopted by Boris Johnson and his partner, Carrie Symonds, from Friends of Animals Wales in Rhondda; it was abandoned by a puppy farmer because of its undershot and misaligned jaw.

Tony Blair warns UK Labour: Don't fall into election 'elephant trap'

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is laying an election “elephant trap” for the opposition Labour Party that it should avoid, former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair warned on Monday.

“Boris Johnson knows that if no-deal Brexit stands on its own as a proposition it might well fail but if he mixes it up with the Corbyn question in a general election he could succeed despite a majority being against a no-deal Brexit because some may fear a Corbyn premiership more,” Blair said.

Tony Blair warns Jeremy Corbyn a general election would produce a 'comfortable Tory majority'

Supporting a snap general election is an "elephant trap" for the Labour Party that would lead to a "comfortable Tory majority", Tony Blair has warned Jeremy Corbyn.

The former Labour leader said the success of the Liberal Democrats would mean Mr Corbyn would be unable to form a majority government, while the Brexit Party would "collapse" to the Conservative Party, delivering a victory to Boris Johnson.

While an election after Brexit would be "right and necessary", sending the country to the polls before October 31 is a trap for the Labour Party it should avoid, he said.

If Keir Starmer was made leader, bringing the Labour Party back toward centre politics, there's a damn good chance Labour would win a GE. Libs might even form a coalition with Labour if the need arises.

Boris could beat the 119 day record for shortest serving PM. That would make my day...
